Inverter Generator Tent, Tan, Original - Standard

I bought this generator running cover for my Westinghouse iGen 5000DFc in hopes of prolonging it’s life. I only use the generator to run a couple of essential circuits during outages, but those always come with bad weather, so again, I want to protect my investment. So, the putting together of this tent is pretty straight forward, but also has a couple of trip hazards. The key is to carefully read the instructions. Something that most of us hate to do. IT WILL PROBABLY TAKE AN EXTRA PAIR OF HANDS WHEN MOUNTING THE STRAP that wraps around the generator. While I did not have any problems with the installation, I did want to verify it with GenTent support. They quickly returned my email, verified my install, and offered to respond to any further questions. While the cover does seem a little pricey, it is of high quality, and offers a lot of functionality. A well thought out product overall. It fits well, offers great protection, and durability.

Really simple to install after getting the corners. Best instructions and has video to help every step. Using it on a honda 3000is and instructions were specific to my model showing to tilt so no exhaust was trapped. I am Super impressed and the material will 100% do its job! This weekend it will be put to the test with heavy wind and rain in the mountains, already passed the easy rain tests!!!

Looking for a reasonable solution to keep generator dry and safe for operating in bad weather. Fits my Predator 3500 nicely. Could have used a second hand strapping it on but good instructions. Have not test in high winds as of yet. Glad it will be protected in the rain. Material seems like good quality time will tell.

Good quality cover, but not ideal for emergency use. The cover itself is well made and appears durable enough to withstand a variety of wet weather conditions. The quality of the materials and overall design are solid. My main concern is the setup process. It requires taking measurements and involves more steps than I'd like for something intended to be used during power outages. I'm a very experienced DIYer and had no trouble figuring out how to assemble it, but in a real emergency - especially in the dark or bad weather—it can be frustrating. If the last time you set it up was months ago, remembering the measurements and setup details isn't always easy. The last thing you want is to go back to find the manual. I've only used it once so far. Fortunately, the first outage I experienced this year happened during the day, so I was able to take my time and set it up in a well-lit garage. The last two outages occurred on rainy nights, and instead of dealing with the setup, I simply secured a small umbrella over the generator, which took no time at all. I think the product would benefit from a more intuitive design that can be deployed quickly under emergency conditions. While the cover performs well once installed, the setup process limits its practicality for my needs. Because of that, I don't expect to use it again unless an outage happens during daylight hours. If returns were still an option, I would likely return it.

Good: nice quality cover/tarp that will keep your generator dry and out of the elements. Does what it is designed to do once set up and looks nice. Should handle all types of wet weather. Bad: the set up. Kind of a complex process the first time that you do it. Requires measurements which is nice for the flexibility between multiple size generators but can be an issue when setting up in the moment. If camping it’s done but if it’s more of an emergency and setting up for an outage, would prefer something that just snapped in place more easily. Once it is set up it’s hard to maneuver my generator with the cover on since you no longer have access to the handles.

Perfect. I can finally get rid of the Horrible outdoor plastic housing I have used for years to store my generator. With the tent I can wheel it in and out of the garage without worry of the elements or the make shift cardboard "roof" I was forced to use that consistently blew off in a storm. Perfect size and thickness and so easy to install. Why did I wait so long!

As someone who is mechanically and technically astute, I can tell you the construction of this GenTent cover is absolutely top-tier. Setup was a breeze—it took me just 30 minutes from start to finish. ​Living at 8,166 feet in Colorado, my power goes out frequently during severe winter storms. This cover is going to handle our massive winds and heavy snowfall without flinching. The durability is incredible, and I have complete confidence it will protect my Westinghouse iGen8200TFc for years to come. If you need serious, storm-tested protection for your generator, this is worth every single penny.

Perfect fit, easy to assemble and disassemble. Very durable. Provides excellent protection from all weather conditions. Worth the money for the exceptional value.

I used GenTent’s online tool to find the right model for my generator. Shipped to me fast. Installed it straight away - no problems. Great product. Well designed and built.

This is the second Gentent we have purchased as we got a new generator. These are amazing and work fantastic and protect all the electrical plugs etc. Instructions were clear, a little hard to put on with one person. Would highly recommend.

I used the Gen-tent to provide some protection for my Honda EU 2000 while running . Bit of a challenge putting the Gen-tent together but once together it is easily adjusted to fit the vertical running edges of your particular generator. Have not tried it out in windy conditions as yet but the Gen-tent maintains its shape and ready to go if the need arises . Add the see through clear plastic strip to the front of the Gen-tent you’re set to go no matter the weather conditions .

It works as advertised it keeps the weather off the generator only issue I have you definitely need two people to properly put it on and the plastic supports are a little flimsy.

Nova Scotia has a lot of windy, rainy weather and snow. So I needed a solution to use my generator outside during power failures when weather is harsh. Purchased the GenTent standard black to protect my investment on my Honda inverter generator. Pleased with the quality and installation was easy thanks to the videos on the GenTent website. Easy to remove and place back on. Now I’m prepared in the event of emergencies and have peace of mind I can use my generator in any weather.
