these are nice, small

Quick initial review: At first I didn’t think this remote could program my remotes since it wasn’t picking up the codes. The instructions say to put the other remote a few centimeters away from this remote when programming. That didn’t work. I had to put my old remotes literally touching the back of this remote for it to program.Once I used that technique, programming was quick and simple. I have an old Linear Multicode static code gate and a new rolling code Access garage door. This remote picked up both types of codes even though neither was listed as compatible when you go onto the manufacturer’s website. So, be persistent, shove your old remote right onto the back of this new remote. Do note that the manufacturer has a different remote for low frequency remotes (like 40 MHz and lower), so this remote probably won’t be compatible with those.Btw, these are nice, small, stylish. Comes with a tiny lanyard and a visor clip.

After reading some of the reviews, I knew that it wasn't going to be perfect (possibly 1 of the buttons will not work on any of my devices) or it's just a bit cumbersome to set up. My house is relatively new, being built in 2003, so I thought that everyone else who had issues with the remote must have very old garages and gates. However, this remote has not worked in any meaningful capacity. My house has 2 separate Genie doors with their own motors with rolling codes and a community gate. I REALLY wanted this remote to copy all 3 codes and I've followed the instructions to a T, but nothing activates as it should. Based on the description, this should have been the ONE Remote to rule them all. I have 1 genie garage with a genie remote, and the 2nd garage door is also a Genie but the previous owners only gave us a controller for the left side. Copying the code from the Genie remote, then going to hit the learn button to fully activate. All lights indicate that it should work. In fact, I can even see the garage motor light activate as I select the button that would activate it... BUT nothing happens. Then I followed instructions for the 2nd garage (Copying code without remote), and that did not work either. Then I tried to copy the code for the gate with the gate remote and that didn't work either. I've tried each button of the 4 buttons for each of the 3 machines and still nothing. Then to top it off, as I ask the manufacturer for help, they request photos of each remote and each motor brand. Their response... Unfortunately if it's not working then it's not going to work. I'm cool with this, but that's how the email correspondence ends. No solutions, just sorry. How about... sorry it didn't work, here's a prepaid return label so you can send for a refund? Nice looking product, but engineering and customer service = terrible.

This thing is awesome!

This thing is awesome. It works for both of the entry gates for my apartment complex, my garage, and the entry gate for my girlfriend's apt complex as well. The programming is simple and straightforward, although it did take repeated attempts to learn all of the remotes. Was able to learn fixed code (when you open the transmitter and physically program the numbers), as well as random number transmitters. I thought it didn't work for my garage until I realized I had to press the program button on the door lifter itself after programming the remote. Bought 2 of them and could easily see buying more.

Poor range

This programmed fine, though reading the Amazon reviews helped. I like that I can program 4 doors on one remote. Good design, stylish and small. The trouble is it only works at very close range and I often sit in front of my garage pressing the button multiple times. I continue to use it, but it annoys me almost daily.

Easy enough to program/use. Don't trust key ring cord to stay on device.

I can recommend this highly, with just a couple of caveats. It's nice and small, well made, and works well. But..........First, don't expect perfectly clear instructions that will work with every type of opener, I see no reason to disbelieve people who had problems. But in my case, I followed the instructions for the simplest kind of opener, for both of my doors. Neither worked after a few tries taking a total of maybe 2 minutes. So I went on to another part of the instructions, for a different kind of opener (rolling code requiring hitting a button on each garage door opener, etc.) and both doors were opening and closing immediately upon doing what it said to do. So, the instructions are adequate, it's just that I was unsure which technology my old openers had, and it turned out they had a more modern security feature than I expected. It was nice that the instructions let me figure out that simple code stealing when I use my remote, doesn't let someone clone the remote without physical access to the power unit inside the garage too.Second, the little cord with little key ring, was nicely made.....but it turns out that it's not 100% secure. DO NOT rely upon it to hold the remote securely for very long, if you clip it to your belt loop for instance. In my case, within a couple of days it had worked its way out from having 2 cords through the remote, to just 1. And with some fiddling, I was then able to pull it off completely. It relies upon the two halves of the remote clamping together, and apparently the cord is simply too thin to keep from working its way out, whether by spreading the two halves when tugged on, or by having a maze-like path it finds its way through, or a combination of the two..I now just keep it loose in a secure pocket, but will take the remote apart (as you'd have to do to change batteries) and set about finding a thicker cord/lanyard which is suitably secure......or I'll bend/shape a keyring with needlenose pliers to fit and check that it can't come out.
