Depends on the time of year. The water temp should be 50 degrees or warmer and the fish active. From 50 to around 60, once every other day is enough. 60+ generally once a day, and in the summer, when water temps are typically in the upper 60s and 70s, twice a day. If the weather is really hot though, cut back to once a day and increase aeration or filtration.

I read that the supplier confirmed it was vegetarian.

I have used this fish food for my pond gold fish for last 20 years and will continue to use it since my fish do so well on it.
