Very pleased with this unit. Seems well built. display is very clear and simple to understand. However, you need to be aware it is not calibrated for masonry. So you can get comparative readings, ie compare a dry area of wall with one you think is damp, but the readings have no absolute meaning in % terms. This does enable you to plot areas of damp penetration very accurately so it served my purpose but the calibrated % moisture content readings are only valid for wood. Good value for the quality of the product, instructions are very clear on how to, for example, plot rising damp.

Very accurate and helps me track changes to my damp walls and moisture levels in wood for my wood burner

Needed this for some damp issues I've found in my house. Takes a little effort to get the cap off but happy with the meter and found it's readings accurate. The instructions were clear and the device was easy to use.

Seems accurate and consistent, easy to use (but DO read the manual, if only for tips on how to find more meaning in the results). Guess I shouldn't be too surprised that it works -- how hard is it to wet a piece of wood or brick and test that? But it seems to work, regardless. Reasonably well built, too. Only slight annoyance is that the cap is tight and the inner prongs have little silicone sleeves that you could easily loose, but good that there IS a cap, and that the sleeves are included, I suppose.

So, I bought this to test moisture in hardwood floorboards after suffering a leak in our kitchen that flooded the place. As you can imagine hardwood dry to be super hard and as the wood started to dry out more pressure is needed to get to the inner moisture. You don't just want surface moisture as that's not the true state. Anyway, after a few days of drying the plastic on the inside thats moulded over the probe bolt broke so probe disappeared into the housing making the unit defunct. So, I opened the device up and could see what was wrong, and quickly fixed it by simply unsrewing the probe from the bolt and placing 2 washers on the ouside so creating a nice firm base between the bolt and the probe spike. So far, only one side broke, however it feels much stronger and stable with both sides being more strongly secured with help of washers. P.S. I used 2 washers, but you could likeky get away with one.

Al probarlo por las esquinas me di cuenta de que el modo de contacto es bastante sensible a las tuberías metálicas que pasan por detrás de la pared, lo que puede dar lecturas algo confusas si no sabes por dónde va la instalación. Como detalle práctico, me fijé en que la pantalla se lee perfectamente incluso en rincones oscuros gracias a la retroiluminación, pero conviene quitarle las pilas si no vas a usarlo en mucho tiempo, porque el compartimento cierra muy a presión y cuesta un poco abrirlo luego. Es una herramienta que te ahorra mucho dinero al saber exactamente si una mancha está seca o si hay una fuga activa antes de llamar al pintor.

I bought the Dryzone Moisture Meter, but I didn't get the pin, so the Moisture Meter is pretty much useless.
