Between Black and White (McMurtrie and Drake Legal Thrillers Book 2)

Predictable
A good read, but as the title says, predictable. The first book was far superior, although inundated with literary clichés.

Gripping.. fantastic characterisation
Between black and white also is another good book like the previous one, ‘The professor’, gripping , good narration, surprises at the right turn of the story. A perfect sequel. Building up the characters in the first book..Bailey has a great knack to introduce new characters and yet make them totally known to you and get them attached and spin the tale around.I have given four stars, Actually would have rated 5 but as it’s a legal war... would have expected more of courtship drama.. battle of words with cross examining.. etc.If this is included in coming series .. there is nothing more you can ask for.

Another good book from the author
A very good book, moves at a great pace and grips you. However, when compared to the first one, I thought this lacked a bit at the end. Ending was a bit of a stretch, too cinematic and a circus, so I would have docked half a star for it, if I could. Otherwise, this book is great.

Wild
Wov...did not keep it down.. as a story it was really played out well without any idea of what's next

Excellent for lovers of Legal Thrillers
This is my second book by this newly discovered author. Although it is not a sequel to the first book "Professor", but one should read them in order: First Professor and then this. There are same characters in this book and author sometimes refers to the first book's case and it helps to know what he is talking about. This book is something like "A Time to Kill" by John Grisham in that it happens in the south, a black man is charged with the murder, there are racial issues (KKK like). The court scenes are good. It is a well readable book, but a little less so than The Professor. The end is surprising but he drags it on a bit in trying to explain why anyone did what they did. Since I gave The Professor 4.5 stars, I am giving this four stars.

Awesome Read
This is another book in the amazing series of thrillers who keep the viewers spellbound. All the characters, the Professor, Bo,Rick and Powell have been very well written and take the reader on a emotional whirlwind journey. I just loved reading it.

Seamless and brilliant continuation from book 1
This book follows on from the first that well that it feels like just one read.A legal dramas answer to the locked room murder/who done it.Our main characters best buddy is accused of murder, the evidence is damming all but holding a smoking gun! But of course he is innocent, or is he.This well crafted novel takes you on a journey involving investigation and court room dramas.Nothing to stop you starting from book 2, as all is explained, but I really think you get the best from this by starting with the first THE PROFESOR.The twists the come along in the book are totally believable. There are no last minute character arrivals that completely change it all. Realy enjoyed this one.... On to book three.

another good read
I must admit I was looking forward to this book after thoroughly enjoying the first in the series and it didn’t disappoint. Quite fast moving- which I like and with complex characters - though at times I had to re read to remember who they all where. Very enjoyable to the last page .

Good plot, well written
This is the second in the McMurtrie series and I have now read all 4, and am starting on the Bocephus Haynes books. The plots are all good with some likeable characters and Baileys writing style just flows along making them easy to read and eager for the next chapter. Highly recommend.

2nd of 4 great books
This and the other three books in the series are superb thrillers written by a excellent story teller. They were so good my wife and I couldn’t put them down on our recent holiday. Can recommend all four unhesitatingly!
