Astromania T2 T Ring and T Adapter Compatible for Canon EOS SLR/DSLR Camera

I bought this a while back for my telescope and DSLR camera. This one was a ok price, so I got it. It's really easy to use and mount onto my telescope and fits perfectly with my Canon camera. Its black metal looks nice and is durable in case of dropping it. Images quaility isnt affected, and I would recommend it to anyone starting in astrophotography.

This works to connect a Canon camera to a 1.25" drawtube. But unlike most such T-rings, the 1.25" adapter does not screw directly into the T-ring. Rather, the T-ring has an adapter which is held in place by 3 metric T-30 setscrews. These were loose on mine, and the adapter fell out, so I had to put it back and tighten the setscrews. It looks well-centered, so I hope it will work. The actual 1.25" adapter screws into this T-ring adapter that is held in place by the setscrews. Possibly at the factory the T-ring wasn't assembled properly. If you buy one check for this issue.

Fits snugly. Precision measurements for great fit. Sturdy construction, you can tighten retention screws without damaging lenses or stripping threads from the body. Adapter does not utilize focus as designed. Adapter is functional when using lense filters and does not prevent you from attaching a lens filter.

I have Canon DSLR professional cameras and this unit allows me to connect them to the telescope and take photos instead of using my mobil phone. The unit mounts to the cameras just like one of my lenses and slides easily into the Barlow 1.5inch holder.

Not Quite Right. . I can get it on, but it takes some wiggling. I finally bought one from directly from Agena Astro and it works perfectly, so I studied them carefully to see what the difference was. I found that the two (lets call them) "retaining clips" that grasp onto the camera were placed about 5 mm too close to the red dot so that it was almost impossible to screw it onto the camera. I ground off about 5 mm of each of the retaining clips and it works perfectly now. In the pictures the Agena Astro ring is on the bottom, and this Astromania is on top. Blue tape with an ink mark shows where the retaining clip begins on the Agena Astro T adapter, and where it should be on this one, and a little blue tape sticking to the inside shows where it actually starts on this T adapter. The difference is about 5 mm. In the second photo with the rings on top of each other, you can see the shiny spots where I ground off about 5 mm from the two rings closest to the red dot. If you are having trouble getting this ring to attach, get out the Dremel and carefully grind off a little off the retaining clips.

Tried it out on the camera and telescope last night photo was crap but the TRing did its job.

No complaint!

You can tell it’s definitely not the highest quality product but it does what it’s supposed to!
