Well illustrated, with clear and concise explanation
Having come from a non-science background but currently working in the LSHC sector, I was looking for a book to help me catch up with the technical aspect of the Life Science industry. I would say that this book has been an enjoyable read (managed to finish it within a couple of days) as it was very well illustrated and the ideas were introduced in a very friendly manner (the cocktail fodders made it even more interesting). My initial fear that this might turn out to be textbook reading was unfounded. I'll definitely need to re-read the book again given the number of new concepts learnt and if there is time, I'll also try to do a book summary and share it at a later date!I'm also looking forward to reading the next book "the Biopharmaceutical Primer: A Guide to Understanding Advanced Therapies" - would be good if the writer can let us know when this book will be out!Definitely a worthy read in my opinion!

Great Book!
I got a BS in undergrad, so I had all the core science courses, but not much science after that, and my first few years in the workforce I was actually in construction. I found myself in a Biotech position, thrilled to be there, but struggling to remember all of the science I had learned in school. I hadn't even begun to grasp all the amazing advancements that happened in just a few years while I wasn't in school. This book brought me up to speed very quickly, and I keep it on a shelf at my desk as a reference still today. It gives you the high level overview of the science, pulling out the most important points in the grand story of biotech, and it has an excellent glossary of words and their definitions that I use as a reference. I read it pretty quickly, and it's not the most exciting read, since it's more like a text book than a story, but it gives you a ton of the information you really should know if you're connected to the biotech world at all. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get a grasp on what biotech is, how it works, whether you have a scientific background or not.
