Sanctuary (A Sanctuary Novel)

favorite series, cried a lot
Years ago I found this book in the new section of the local library. I finished it within a couple hours. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of the second book. Which made me cry a bit, again. And then the third book had me absolutely sobbing. Nothing is expected. Every twist and turn is exciting but sad or surprising. Caryn Lix herself is an incredibly wonderful person and mother. This series remains one of my top 3 series of ALL TIME. And I have read…..a lot let’s just undermine it so I don’t seem obsessive. This series is incredible and I look forward to anything else Caryn might write, as this series is home.

Good read
Really enjoyed this book not just because I was attracted to the character development and also the unique story line , but because it was a change of pace from the many sci-fi stories available to read. Bought the whole series so as not to miss any details and am anxious to follow the story through. Thank you for making this such an enjoyable read and look forward to future endeavours. Very refreshing.

J'ai hâte de lire la suite ! Plein de suspense !En ce qui concerne la référence à Alexandra Bracken’s The Darkest Minds, je précise que ce livre-là ne m'a pas captivé, pas du tout, le film non plus.

Amazing and Intense!
This book was intense! I just wanted more and more. It ended in such an appropriate place, which I super appreciated. It's set up beautifully for book 2, with just enough unanswered questions. With how action packed and time condensed this book is, there wasn't really a whole lot of time for most of the prisoners' back stories, which I really hope we'll get more of in the next book. Especially Mia's background, which is hinted at several times throughout the book but never revealed. I do love almost all the characters. I loved the variations in powers. The dystopian/futuristic Earth sounds like it's asking for more books to be written about it. And of course, the prison itself, was great. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star read, was the insta-romance between Kenzie and a prisoner. Yes Kenzie is a teen girl, but she was mature enough to already be a junior guard in a prison. And the prisoner has been there for 3 years. I don't think either of them would have fallen for each other even half that easily. Between corporation run cities, space prisons, and aliens... the MC's romance was the most unbelievable thing in this story. There are many unanswered questions that I hope are addressed in Book 2. Not in a way that detracts from the book knowing there is going to be a sequel. And the immediate circumstances of this book are addressed, no huge cliff hanger that leaves you angry/confused/hurt. Other than the romance, I am so impressed that this is a debut book. It was so so good.

This novel gets right to it! It had me from the first page, and I read the entire book in a few days. Lix is a talented author who can spin a plot that will keep you intrigued and entertained. Thanks for the great read.
