Beautiful, inspiring, eye candy

Beautiful pictures and lots of embroidery patterns. Quilt patterns as well. I bought it used and it looks new.

This is a hardcover book with 223 pages full of KF patterns and fabrics! Can't wait to get started!!!

Exquisite as always. Kaffe Fassett and Liza Lucy are quilting geniuses. This homage to floral design, both in the motif of the fabric and the shape of quilted pieces, is bursting with color and design inspiration. Beautiful photography, nice quality pages, lovely patterns, this book is a gorgeous addition to the library of anyone interested in fiber, color or design.

Such a fountain of inspiration, Fassett share not only his art, but also his processor which is invaluable. This book is a keeper to refer to over and over again

As with all Fassett books this is glorious with colour and as usually it realise on the fabric to do so, the patterns I have seen before in other book. Having said that it is a lovely book, unfortunately I ordered on kindle and the pictures are quite small and on enlargement the loose focus. But the biggest problem in that there is no link to the templates. This is particularly annoying for the applique pattern. For this reason I am returning the book and buy it jn a paper version.

As always, Kaffe never disappoints. This is a beautiful book with bold and beautiful inspiration and wonderful writing throughout. I have most of Kaffe Fassett's books, and even when I'm not involved in doing a project from one of them, I can still pick one up for inspiration, or just to worship at the altar of the beautiful: both Kaffe and his designs! It's too bad that you can't "Look Inside" these types of books; I think the publisher would sell many more books if you could. Lovely, lovely, lovely!!

Kaffe is a consummate designer. Instead of being on an unattainable pedestal, he is a regular design champion. Tasteful design for all. Design and decor for any budget. This book is wonderful. Lots of good design advice. Super easy directions if you would like to make his quilt designs. This book is a great representation of his designs and philosophy. Lush photography, concise quilt directions. If you love Kaffe, then this book should be in your library.

Kaffe Fassett's work is instantly recognisable whatever medium he is working in. This latest book uses flowers in different sizes and shapes - real and fantasy. The overall impression is of light and colour. There are instructions for needlepoint and quilting projects and the book is filled with delicious photographs. The author describes how he works - which I found fascinating. If you love Kaffe Fassett's work you will love this book. It is marvellous just to browse through and admire the projects in it but it will probably inspire you to try at least one of the projects yourself. The instructions for the projects are laid out in an easy to read format and they are detailed and comprehensive. There are also instructions at the end of the book on basic quilting techniques. The index includes little pictures of the quilts and needlepoints featured in the book so that it is easy to locate the one you want. This is a must buy for Kaffe Fassett fans and would be a good introduction to his work if you are not familiar with it.

Bold Blooms is everything that one can expect from the colour and pattern genius of Kaffe Fassett! This book is inspirational on all levels!

Excelente título para quem tem interesse em ampliar suas técnicas. O trabalho artístico é mostrado como ato amoroso. É interessante para todos os níveis de conhecimento.

Bold Blooms features a stunning collection of needlepoint and quilt designs using the large floral prints for which the Kaffe Fassett Collective is well known. It can be a daunting task, when one is new to Kaffe's eclectic style, to even know where to begin coordinating his fabrics together, but this book provides so much inspiration. I cannot speak for the needlepoint designs, other than they are beautiful. There are quilt patterns suitable for beginners through to intermediate level quilters. If the fabric designs and colourways used in the patterns are not to your liking, the book contains numerous photographs of other fabrics that may be substituted. One of the more complex appliqué designs has recently been released as a machine raw edge appliqué design, for use with an embroidery machine. The quilt pattern instructions seem clear. Kaffe's own website contains errata for his publications and at the time of writing this, there are no recorded corrections for this book. Nor have I found any problems. There are also sections for both needlepoint and quilting basic techniques.
