YIH 10-lb Pure White Beeswax Pellets-100% Pure

Q: I am looking for beeswax that's pure to use for medical applications, will this do? Also not too white bleeched. Still has original smell.

I melted a couple pounds of this beeswax and it didn't have much scent. I don't know how pure it is.

Q: Is this from tbe USA or is this from another country?

Seller is from China and they sell through amazon. So I’m guessing it’s imported now that I look into it

Q: Anyone that had used this to make colored candles is there a lot of issues with frost?

I have tried paraffin, beezwax, and soy, and soy is the only type of wax i have problems with frost.

Q: Can this be used for encaustic wax?

Yes, it can be used for encaustic but you should be aware that this wax is NOT clear and I was somewhat disappointed that it was more yellow than other domestic beeswax I have purchased. it is not "Pure White" as it is labeled. You can see in the attached video the difference between encaustic medium made with the same damar recipe (8:1) using my old wax from Swan's Candles (bottom) and medium made with this wax (top). Cloudy and yellow compared to clear. I would not recommend buying this wax unless you plant to mix it with pigment and use it as opaque paint. Unfortunately I bought 50 lbs. of this junk. The old saying you get what you pay for applies here.
