Hyde Tools 60780 Square Point Knife, 8-Inch by 1-Inch/14-Gauge Wood Handle

Hyde products are typically top quality in my opinion. I purchased this knife to cut 6" thick fiberglass insulation.The knife arrived in a cardboard box , wrapped in a bubble wrap envelope from Amazon with other tools that I purchased. I was shocked that it did not have a protective sheath on the blade as it is razor sharp!Shame on the manufacturer "HYDE" for endangering everyone who comes in contact with this product.Shame on Amazon for exposing their employees to this vendors product in its unprotected state. All to save $$$???I would gladly have spent an additional $3-$5 for a durable protective sheath, to keep myself and others safe!

Very happy with it so far. The initial quality appears to be great. So far, the blade is staying tight in the handle. Be warned, it comes with a quite sharp cutting edge (which is a good thing).

Great blade! It works super well cutting insulation. The blade needs a sharping stone tho with it. It doesn’t cut paper very good unless sharp. It was lighter duty then I thought so if your hard on tools and throw things around you might want to spend a little more on a heavier set but these blades are great.

It got the job done

Saved my butt when I re-insulated my attic and made life way easier. Only thing is the blade did come kind of dull but a little sharping and it was good to go. It's tough too!
