Amazing self help book - with worksheets
I read this book while on a canal boat holiday. It’s written without jargon with worksheets and makes sense of how and why we have the thought process we do.I have learned lots and will incorporate this into supporting people with incurable pain.I myself have incurable pain and have for over 40 years - I have said to Jacqueline on Instagram review if someone could wave a magic wand and say I could be cured sounds crazy but I think I’d say no thank you ! Why ? Might you ask. I feel my pain has given me a depth of strength I never knew I was capable of and my positive outlook on life and made me the person I am today having had my condition from childhood. I truly believe the power of the mind is key to living your best life as does Jacqueline. You can achieve anything if you think you can. One of the statements in her says -If you think you can’t your right and if you think you can your also right. Love that - also the biggest things that jumped out of the pages to me personally the statement- IF NOT NOW THEN WHEN? ….. You are in charge of you, your thoughts, your life and how we chose to live it. No one else will suffer if we chose to just plod along - only you suffer. So let’s make the most of this one life we all have, it’s a one shot chance to enjoy be happy. No dress rehearsal. This is it. Read this book if your struggling or like myself self educating easy read and can’t recommend it enough.

Lifechanging book to change how you think & outlook
The magical toolkit Jacqueline has provided is truly lifechanging that words cannot express. I do hope more people have the opportunity to read this book and learn as much as I did!Jacqueline's book has helped immensely on my journey to becoming a strong, young professional and stronger and happier in my personal life. I have read many self-development / ‘self help’/ personal improvement books, but Jacqueline's has been my favourite so far, and has impacted my life the most by helping me to make positive changes. As I was reading her book, it felt as though she was there, speaking to me in person- it is such a motivating and flowing read.A point which she continuously stresses in her book, that we are in control and have power over our thoughts and feelings, is life changing. It’s amazing how much this point has changed my life. We can choose our response/feelings when someone says something. Be this when we have felt overwhelmed and stressed at work, or in daily life regarding negative thoughts about ourselves. There are many many other lessons I have learnt and made notes of from, and I refer back to these regularly to ensure that I am implementing in my daily life, and becoming a stronger person.

Life changing
I absolutely adored this book. It is SO eye opening and covers all the relevant topics in depth - ultimately bringing things back to your mindset, and exploring really powerful tools to control your thinking. I couldn’t recommend this book or Jaqueline enough. I discovered her through listening to Emily Clarksons “Should I delete that podcast” in the episode “Accidental therapy session” and I was blown away with what Jacqueline was saying and how it all made complete sense. I think she approaches mental health and “thinking” in a way I haven’t seen before - I’m a way that’s straight talking, clear and to the point. Just WOW.

Life changing, audiobook version please!
I heard about Jacqueline on a YouTube video she featured in discussing her work. I’ve had a lot of unexpected and traumatic life changes this year and there was only so much counselling could do to help me get me on track with my life. This book is very thorough and makes it so clear what the best ways to change your mindset are. I’ve read the book twice, second time making notes and going through the worksheets. The worksheets ask simple yet very effective questions. It really made me realise what is important to me in life and how I want my life to look.I’m continuing to use Jacqueline’s techniques to help change my way to thinking and it’s helping enormously! When I feel myself slip back into negativity I pick the book up and dip in and make notes.I only wish there was an audiobook of Jacqueline reading it so I could listen to it too! It would definitely help to reinforce the techniques.

GAME CHANGER
Hands down the easiest, effective, and enjoyable self-help books I have read. Jaquline's voice immediately comes through, she is straight to the point and extremally honest, which I found highly relatable. I really enjoyed the 'case studies' (her client feedback) they gave me reassurance that I'm not alone facing daily mental challenges and has given me the push I so desperately needed to move forward towards a better future.I lost self-esteem and confidence in my dream job and fell out of love with which left me feeling drained. After reading this book I started to master my thinking and try take back control of my life, I feel more positive and most importantly believe in myself again. So excited to read a second time and make notes through the work sheets. Please bring out the audiobook!!!

A MasterClass On Self-Love and Recovery
I read the brilliant, “How To Do You” twice. The first time was for me, the second for the other people in my life, including my own patients. It’s searingly honest and generous. What is so powerful about this book is Jacqueline Hurst’s indomitable faith in her readers’ ability to reclaim their lives no matter how they started out or how long they’ve spent in their own rock bottom. Her advice and worksheets are straightforward, universally practical and ultimately achievable. Jacqueline writes “Rejection is redirection” - with the straight talking credo that recovery comes from self-discovery, ergo, How To Do You. Her gift is that she shows you how.
