This a a micro SD, and comes with an SD adapter, so it should fit. Be careful ordering online. Garmin kept the same name, Tope US 24k West, while changing the software at least two times, and some vendors are showing an image of the latest version but sending an old version. Only the current version has five states and can be moved from one device to another. The previous version allowed changing devices but had fewer states. The earliest locked onto the first device. The current version, with all four west coast states plus Hawaii, is part NUMBER: 010-C1129- 00. The previous version, part number 010-C0949- 00, covers only California & Nevada. The earliest version, June 2008, had the same part number but locked onto the first device that it was used on.

2nd question, is this much better [and accurate] that the OSM with routing?

I don't understand your question, sorry. I bought this to use with a Nuvi 1450. It works fine but the City Map version which has a lifetime update with my unit is much better for general use in the car. I'm not sure how it would work in "hiking mod". My Nuvi 1450 is much slower when this TOPO map is used. Cross using in this type GPS works but not well... in my opinion. Hope this helps.

Unknown. I only have one the one handheld and I switch between the TOPO and marine charts using the two different SD cards.

can multiple sd cards be combined into one. for example if i have the west and the southwest ads can i move them onto one sd?

I don't think so--I believe they are write protected. Not saying you can't buy your own card and download them
