I selected this device to serve as a temporary solution when my expensive digital hearing aids were sent in for repair and the analog loaner I was given had an earpiece that did not fit and a hard to adjust volume control knob.First let me be clear on one important point - This device is an audio amplifier and if your hearing loss includes difficulty hearing speech in noise or the need for frequency shifting because you cannot hear specific frequencies, it will not take the place of a true programmable digital hearing aid fitted by an audiologist. Since my hearing loss includes both of these problems, I looked to the NewEar device to be a temporary help until my aids were returned.That being said, I found the NewEar amplifier to be a very acceptable product. It comes in a nice storage case with a cleaning brush and 3 different size earpieces, all of which turned out to be too large to fit my ear canal. However, I trimmed the dome off the middle sized earpiece, leaving a soft tube that fit my ear quite well.The digital volume control is easy to adjust and is much better than any unit with an analog (rotating knob) volume control. I do wish the adjustment range was wider since even at minimum volume I sometimes I wish I could have turned it down more.While the instructions were marginal due to the translation into English, you can easily figure out what you need to know. I found that the mode button on model VHP-221 that switches from low to high frequency environments made no difference in my case. On model VHP221T it switches to a telecoil mode. I could not find any model number on the unit, but did find a VHP-221 sticker under the bar code label on the box.Some reviewers have indicated that the supplied batteries did not fit, however the L1154 batteries that came with my unit were fine. I did not have to change the battery during the time I used the aid (Approx 3 weeks @ 8 hrs per day).I found the unit to be a great help in the following situations:- Listening to the TV at reasonable volumes (My aids use a wireless connection with independent volume control).- Direct conversations with one or more people in a quiet environment.As expected, it did not work well for me under the following conditions:- Trying to have a conversation when there were many people talking in a group situation. (My aids can focus on a single voice).- When there was a constant background noise such as riding in a car. (My aids can filter out various constant background noises).While I am very glad to have my regular aids back, overall I like the idea of having some type of useful backup that is available at about 1/100th the cost of my digital system! If you have a hearing loss that can be addressed with just amplification, I would certainly recommend that you try this product. If you already wear hearing aids you might want to do as I did and see if it can serve in a backup role.

It' going to be difficult to get promoted to 4 or 5 Star General here.Received my NewEar VHP221T Ear Amplifier yesterday-1/14-2014. After locating a 100,000 power magnifying glass I was able to read the instructions on how to get the little dude to work. If you have perfect eyesight you can be thankful for that. The instructions "do not" mention how to change the very soft clear like ear plug/dome from the large one (that comes installed on the earphone part. There's nothing in the instructions on this, and at first one would think the manufacturer sent the middle and smaller ear plugs wrong. After a day of looking and checking out the situation, find there's a "very small" soft plastic adapter that comes with the unit...between the earphone and the earplug that must be used with any one of the other small or medium ear plug. It's a good thing I have an engineering degree, otherwise I would have sent it back to Amazon for refund. NOTE: I can say it rally works. I put the dude in my right ear and failed to turn down the volume before hand, and when I turn the switch on I thought I busted a ear drum. I have it set at the "lowest" setting and it is still too loud. I have about 36 % hearing lost in my right ear and 28 % in the left one., So I don't need a high volume unit. I can hear my dog walking in the back yard and the neighbors 1/2 block away having a afternoon delight. I've worn the VHP221T watching TV and so far no earache or headache that some have reported. The item come with a very nice white plastic case about the size of a deck of cards for your shirt pocket or whatever. Anything I hang around my ears, It's going to take some time to get use to. So, here's the voting review I must give. Like I mentioned, I'm a 3 star person only because of the "failed" mention instructions of how to change the ear plugs and the very small print that a average person cannot read. However, it is better than having a set of $8.000.00 one to use. Buy one and try it out, you probably like it.

È un buon prodotto, lo acquistato per mia madre, si trova bene ha un ottimo ascolto anche da una distanza di 5 MT.

L'avevo preso per mia nonna.. ma non si trovava per niente bene... Anche diminuendo il volume fischiava..
