My 9 year old son LOVED this!
My son is a huge Spiderman fan and I wanted to start introducing him to some of the comics and found this series. He really enjoyed reading it although he said that the Spidey introduction got kinda repetitive as it appeared a few times in the volume. He wants to read the rest now though for sure!

Peter's Humor was on point!
One of my biggest problems with adaptations of Spiderman is when they when they make him a total dork, but forget that he's also got Deadpool levels of snark. I really like that this adaptation really captured his awkward dork self with his wit intact. Will definitely order Vol 2.

Finally stories that are fun again!
Finally stories that are fun again!!!!! Bringing back the spirit of what made Spider-man fun , the art brings back the images of Ditko....the stories are a homage to the great Stan Lee.....no more gloom and doom and darkness that most of the newer comics bring....these are the days of fun and adventure.....and the stories can be enjoyed by all ages, looking forward to the future volumes

Love Spidey
Retelling the early days of spiderman, in a way that captures the spirit of the original work, but for an audience 50 years removed. Great art, great character. Good to break into comics, or relive olden times.

Refreshing start for Spidey
The artwork is incredible and this is some of the best spiderman writing I've read in a while. If spiderman homecoming is anything like this it's gonna crush.

Basic Spidey
This book takes a look at Spidey as a modern teenager start out at mid-town High. The first issue is a bit rough. It's frentic and jumps all over the place. It features the out of character moment where Gwen Stacy punches Flash Thompson in the face and then there's the lady in a bunny suit who robs a bank so Spidey makes puns, Peter goes to a lab and a fight with Doc Ock is shoe-horned in.However, after the first issue, the book gets better as we feature Spidey battles with all-time great foes like the Vulture, the Lizard, Doctor Doom, Green Goblin, and Sandman. The stories are fun and make for light breezy reads. If you like simple Spidey away from all ways the Marvel 616 version have been messed up, this reads great. Also, if you want to introduce a kid to Spidey, this is a good book to do it with if you're afraid they won't be able to get into the originals. Although, these aren't on par with that.My one complaint after the first issue is that the story reuses the art for the same opening page telling the story of how Peter got his powers.Other than that, though, it's a fun book for kids and for fans who just want a simple continuity-free Spider-man story.

Spidey Vol. 1: First Day
cool Think you know everything about Peter Parker? Think again! Expect action, adventure and hilarity in equal measure as we head back to high school to explore Pete's early days! Modern talent combines with the classic Marvel flavor to present the web-slinging wonder's younger years in truly amazing, spectacular, sensational style. It's a return to the hassles of overdue homework, not knowing how to talk to girls and a never-ending merry-go-round of madness courtesy of the best rogues'gallery in comics, each one more incredible than the last. You'll love watching Spidey tangle with Doctor Octopus and dig Sandman, the walking beach. With these and more faces from Peter's past -both familiar and surprising figures -you'll remember what made Spider-Man the world's greatest hero in the first place!COLLECTING: SPIDEY 1-6

A return to my fave era of Spidey - the teenage beginner
A fun look on the early days of Spider-Man when he was a teenager. Each issue in the comic is its own story and it's nice to be reminded Iron Man ocne had a secret identity as his own bodyguard. Like a review on Amazon.com said this will get you excited for Spider-Man Homecoming and this Peter Parker is starting out as a fifteen year old like in the MCU as well.Reccomended

Spidey at his best!
Great alternative/reboot to the current Amazing Spider-Man run (which I currently do not enjoy) and just a lot of fun.

Disappointing
didn't like it at all. the writing was awful in my opinion, the art was okay at first, but then it got worse as the comic went on (no backgrounds, weak poses, bad anatomy). it was so frustrating to read Peter's inner monologue the entire comic, and whenever he talks it's a useless unfunny quip. it's very painful to read. I was super excited for this book and was really excited to read it, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. Waste of money.
