Absolutely brilliant!
This was great. Made the job a lot easier but there is a knack to it. I’ve put a little video on of the consistency needed for the mortar. It looks too thin but it’s not, it’s perfect. Just a little bit stiffer and the plunger won’t budge! Use plasticiser as others have said and as one review I read on here before I bought it said….tighten the nut a little on the plunger so it expands the rubber to make a tight seal in the tube. Took a bit of experimenting but the best way is a thin/watery mix and pipe it in blobs then let this start to go off before you tidy it up (see pics) …Try and tidy whilst it’s not beginning to go off and it all falls out and gets very messy. Patience is key with this.. Well worth the money!! 👍

Read the reviews and away you go!
This isn't so much of a review as a thank you to the previous reviewers! This product works fine IF:1)You adjust the gun so that the plunger fits snugly within the tube. It's as complicated as tightening up a single nut).2)You use pre-mixed mortar with fine components.3)Add plasticiser to the mix to achieve the correct consistency.4)Mix everything really well. Then mix it more to be sure. The mixing paddle needs a bit of help.5)Prepare the area you are going to work on to aid adhesion.6)Be prepared for some overrun it's inevitable.7)Do relatively small amounts (3kg dry seemed to be as much as I could comfortably manage) and keep the device and all its components very clean. If you do all of that, it seems to work very well indeed. I can't speak for the strength of the finish but I see no reason why it'd be any weaker than applying the same mixture via trowel. Which by the way I tried and ended up with a perfectly well mortared floor. Which would have been fine if I wasn't supposed to be pointing a wall.

Groating Tiles
Bought this for groating tiles after killing my hands doing approx 20-30 tiles worth of area at a time and hating it!This is awesome, be prepared to groat like a pro, once you get started only the capacity of teh tube slows you down and just as well as you need to "clean up and smooth down" all the applicating as you go!Tile is easy with this one.Note:You must sieve your dry groat mix before adding water and pouring into the gun as the mix often has lumps large enough to block the nozzle, once you have trimmed the nozzle to your desired feed size and loaded the tube pump out excess air, put a finger over the end to control feed and pressure up, then away you go (use your finger to control start stop locations and you can cover a massive area in very little time, also as this is "pumped" into the tile gaps the mixture fills the hole so you don't get air gaps or have a tendancy for the dried groat to sink into the gap, leaves a really good finish with just one passOnly downside for me was the plunger travel, fully deployed and the rubber seal would drop past the end of the tube and became difficult to pull it back out, a better design would have been to have an angled rubber seal for extraction or a deeper rubber seal to not slip past the end of the tube.Still a lot faster and easier on hand cramp then doing it with a small scraper.

Works well but sieve your sand first!
A great tool, well made and should stand up well to repeated use IF you treat it with some care. The one big annoyance is the nozzle blocks easily unless you carefully sieve your sand to remove lumps or small stones. If you don’t it is frustrating and the temptation is to try and squeeze hard and push the blockage through...don’t you will break something. Buy a sieve if you don’t already have one.Use this for beautifully pointed brick or block work. Don’t use that horrible brushed-in dry mix - a hallmark of the Cowboys.
