my 3 year old can put this together by himself and loves that the two cars that come with it can actually go up side down through the loop. Lights on the cars are very bright and look great on the track when you use it with the room's lights out or at night. the only parts that are kind of fragile are the loop components that interlock it together, after about 20 assemble/dissemble iterations (very hard usage from 4 kids), one of the loop attachment piece finally broke off but it actually still works with it broken. Still haven't replaced the batteries in the cars from the initial set and this has been used almost daily for a few months.

I purchased this track for my 4 year old as a Christmas gift. We love it (me included!) The cars work exactly as described. The light up and make the track appear to glow as they zoom around. I was a little iffy about spending the extra money on this set when I could buy the As Seen On TV set for $10 cheaper in the store. I wasn't sure if the loop would really make a difference. The loop is actually really cool and worthwhile to have. The pieces must be installed correctly in order for the cars to properly function on the loop, but it is really easy to put together. It just snaps into place. Several people have complained about the cars not working, but we have not had any issues with either of the vehicles. I read the reviews in advance and decided to show my son right away how to work the cars. He knows that he should never hold the car in one place while it is turned on. We also make sure to hold the car up off the ground when turning it on or off. I don't know if that really could hurt or help the car, but I figure that if we do our best to care for the set, it will last longer. We have had hours of fun with this track and hope to continue to use it for years to come. I wish they would have put a set like this out when I was a kid!

Overall this is a good toy and my son (8) is happy with it. The pros are that it gives you a good amount of track, one loop, and it does in fact glow. It includes two cars, no batteries. I also like the fact that it includes a cloth bag to store the track in, it is so much nicer to store that way instead of having to keep the box. The con is that the cars don't have much power and even with brand new batteries we have to help it make it over the loop. Since that is the whole purpose of the set, it's a pretty big deal! May son hasn't played with it a lot yet so I can't say for certain the batteries will run down fast but my guess is they will. I would have given it 5 stars if he cars were better quality and had a bit more pep. I try to be very helpful and honest with me reviews. If it was helpful to you please click yes!
