Makes life so much easier, remembering my weights and charting them or me.4.5 Year Update:------------------This is the best scale you could ever wish for and the company behind the product was superb too; read on for the juicy details.This is a WiFi scale that uses the wireless connection to records your weight in the cloud and then, the cloud pushes the new data to your phone. This WiFi scale is much more convenient that the Bluetooth scales which require your phone to be close by so they can communicate with your phone to pass on the data. My router has been 2 floors away and in all these years, the scale has never had a problem connecting to it.The other thing I have enjoyed with this scale is its lack of need for attention. After setting it up, which I should say was effortless and with no surprises, I placed it on the bathroom floor and never had to lay hands on it, except to change the batteries once a year-ish. In fact, I hardly looked at the scale because I didn't want to ruin the starting of my days; instead, I opened up the Apple Health app at lunch time!The scale's app, Weight Gurus, integrates with Apple Health which in turn allows me to share my weight with other apps that need that info. The scale's app can handle multiple weighings a day and shows a nice chart to help me visualize my journey.The scale can handle recognition of 8 users and unlimited guests. Each user installs the app on their device, sets up an account, chooses a profile (U1 ... U8), and links the scale. In all these years, this scale never confused any of us for another.Unlike ancient scales that you had to wake them up by lifting them off the ground, this scale turns on as soon as you stand on it. It weighs you in seconds and informs you with a faint beep that you can move on; your phone will receive your weight within a second or two.A few weeks ago, I noticed the scale wasn't lighting up when I stood on it which I thought was due to its batteries dying out; sadly it was not. I put new batteries in, sweet talked it, ignored it, and performed chest compressions on it but I couldn't get it to turn on. I knew I needed a scale and I knew I wanted the exact same scale because of how well behaived it had been for all these years.Before buying the scale again, I dropped a one-liner via the Amazon order's help to the seller/manufacturer. Within a few hours, I had a reply from the seller asking me to check the batteries to which I replied I had. The next message I received was asking about the type of the batteries to which I replied they were AmazonBasics. The final message was to inform me that they would ship me a new scale which arrived in 2 days!The scale had worked flawlessly for over 4.5 years and when there was a terminal problem, Greater Goods made it right. If you need a scale and like the finer things in life, in my view, this is the scale to buy.

I was slightly worried purchasing this scale -- some reviews were great, others complained of difficult to set up wifi connections. This was also my first attempt at a digital scale after leaving the world of crappy electronic scales for a good five years or more. We actually purchased a mechanical beam scale like those found in gyms or doctor's offices. Well, we moved houses and the beast of a scale wouldn't fit in the new place. So the search began... I was very worried about getting an electronic scale that had one of two common issues: the ability to make it say pretty much whatever you want by standing just so, and the scale that just gives you the previous reading unless there's been a significant change, both drive me nuts. I am pleased to say that I have found this scale easy to setup, very accurate, and responds to small weight changes. As a bonus I no longer have to manually input my weight into my phone each day, which is nicer than I expected. I am connecting to an Apple AirPort Extreme router if anyone is wondering. It automatically found the band that it needed to connect to. It took my three attempts to get through the process, not that it was difficult to work with, it was more me learning how to do it. It's pretty simple, but I can screw even simple things up. I've had it for a week now, and every day it has sent my weight to my app, so I'm a happy camper. My router is located in the basement and my master bathroom is located on the second floor, probably a worst case scenario... it connects just fine. The scale is much larger than other similar scales I've encountered in stores, which is a benefit to me, there's not much worse than trying to get big feet in a small scale... all of the extra data I ignore, it cycles through your water weight and bone mass, blah, blah, blah, but I'm not especially interested in that.

I think this scale is adequate but nothing spectacular. I get inconsistent readings moving the scale just a few inches on a hard surface and I doubt that from one day to the next my body fat would go up or down by .5% as it sometimes shows. I like that I can use the scale for trend analysis over time and I can check it with the poundage on my gym's scale but there is no way I believe the body fat and muscle mass percentages are down to the T. I like that with the WiFi I do not need to have my phone on me. It records the information and then sends it to my phone. Set up was a bit of a problem as I had to go into my modem and change the 2.4 GHz channel width to use both 20Mhz and 40Mhz instead of just 40 as the modem had by default. After that, the set up went pretty smooth and I don't need to touch any of the configurations now. I'm sure someone with less technical knowledge would be frustrated by this, though. As there is no way to connect using Bluetooth on this scale, if you can't get it to connect to your wifi, it is only usable as a normal poundage scale.It has its flaws but I don't think there is a better one on the market for consumers. They all use the same tech and this one has the advantage of a nice recording/trending app (used on Android) that pushes my weight to Myfitnesspal automatically.I would say choose whether you want Bluetooth (easier set up but must always have your phone with you when you weigh yourself) or WiFi (more difficult set up but you can forget about that part once it's done, don't need your phone with you) and then select a brand from any of these top recommended on Amazon and have fun quantifying yourself.

First scale had leaking batteries, then they sent the wrong scale for replacement. Tried to call their customer service only to get the message to send them a email for faster service.

So far so good. Just received the scale tonight, but I wanted to comment based on some of the negative reviews about the network configuration setup and the self proclaimed network administrators who couldn't set it up.I have managed networks in the past, but not for many years. But I am the kind of tech geek who has 2 separate WiFi routers in the home, one for kids and one for parents. And they are both heavily customized.It took about 15 mins to configure the scale, including integrating with my Fitbit account. The integration was near real-time even though the Weight Guru app said it could take a couple hours the first time. It was synchronized before my watch did with the fitbit app on my phone.The setup: you have to download the app, I used Google Play on my Galaxy S7 edge.Then you press a button on the back of the scale and it enters into setup mode. Then follow phone app instructions, including choosing your home network and password (entered my WiFi pw incorrectly first time, shame on me), then in the phone app selecting a graphic displayed on the scale, which will ultimately lead you to opening the WiFi settings on your mobile device, then selecting the WiFi network of the "scale". It goes through what I suspect is an authentication process from scale, through the phone and connects to your WiFi. Then in the Phone app, you select an integration which was as advertised.The app itself could be improved, the back button closes the app, but once you get the hang of it, works fine. Also displays Wt, BMI, water, bone density and Body Fat all as advertised. In testing, only displays weight unless you connect through the app.All in all very pleased for first night, much cheaper than fitbit scale. Will post an update I experience any issues.
