When the frame opens, the center bracing forms a "floor" to set your basket in to. This makes it easier and quicker to setup. Other caddies that rely on the basket to be hung from the corners are much more cumbersome as you have to suspend the basket while engaging the corners. This design allows you to just drop the basket in and secure each corners independently.
