Avène Tolerance Control Soothing Recovery Cream, Sensitive Skin, 1.3 oz

I’ve been using Avène tolerance control for a few weeks now, and the difference in my skin is unbelievable. The texture is rich without being heavy, and it absorbs beautifully. My skin feels soothed, hydrated, and noticeably softer from the very first application. What I love most is how gentle and calming it is—especially on days when my skin feels irritated or sensitive. I so wish I had known about this skincare line a long time ago, but just glad I did find it at all. I have rosacea (including ocular rosacea) diagnosed by a dermatologist. I had been through all the typical stores and websites, trying so many things over the last 15 years. Yes, most were supposed to be for people with skin problems. EVERY SINGLE TIME I tried something, within five minutes, my skin was bright red. My skin reacted to EVERYTHING. I started to believe there was not one single product on the entire planet that my skin would not react to! It was so frustrating. Purchase, fail, repeat. Thing is, I had tried their spring water spray. I sort of ignored all the other products until I was talking to someone randomly and they asked if I had tried Avene. Honestly I decided maybe this was providence and that I had better try it just to be on the safe side. What would life be like if I had ignored their advice and not tried it? If this company ever goes out of business, I will have to live with terrible skin because I already know there is nothing else out there. I had read a review whereby someone said their doctor told them the longer they used the products, the better their skin would get. This is completely true. But even initially, all I cared was that I could relieve the dryness with SOMETHING that did not turn my skin RED IMMEDIATELY! Even THAT, I would have been happy with! Now for the rest of the benefits. I had the good intuition to purchase two of these when they were on sale. I am so glad I did. I use it like crazy every chance I get. It just feels so good going on and I like touching my skin even after the product dissipates. No redness, no irritation, it actually CALMS my skin. And makes it like, well, "real skin." I'm glad I also got the thicker version in the tube, Cicalfate. This is my go-to for dryer areas and in the winter. The two together along with the water spray, if you like to use something like that, are a great overall program. Definitely other things I would like to try. Again, my goal was to help others who have skin problems because everything else out there has no concept whatsoever of calming the skin, but the exact opposite -- irritating it worse (even if those products are supposed to help with redness or irritation). And I felt the company truly deserves a shout-out because they GET IT when it comes to skincare products. Whatever they've done, they are experts, far more than all the other skincare lines and I don't care how long those have been around. If it doesn't immediately tell you your skin "likes it" and shows it by not reacting or immediately getting better, why on earth would you pay your hard-earned money to buy it and keep using it? It's worth every penny, don't bat an eyelash, your skin is worth that and more. If it's on sale, get a lot of it because trust me, you are going to want and need it. You will be so glad you got more than one. I definitely am! THANK YOU, AVENE, WE LOVE YOU HERE IN AMERICA! YOU UNDERSTAND SKINCARE LIKE NO OTHER COMPANY! Update: Wanted to comment that I'm still so grateful for a product that does FAR MORE than what you expect! I recently bought more. I watch my skin calm down the minute I put it on. I don't know entirely how the ingredients do what they do, but to the company ... please don't fix what isn't broken! Too many companies have a good thing and then change it. Please don't, the products are perfect and far beyond expectation! I also wanted to mention it seems the Tolerance tube will get EVERY LAST BIT out, you won't be wondering if there is anything left you are discarding. The Cicalfate tube is a bit different, it's more like a squeeze tube. But I feel I can still get the product out to use it all. That said, you get your money's worth. I'm also starting to use the Cicalfate on my hands in the winter, too (which are sadly starting to show my age). But this product line has literally CHANGED MY LIFE! BUY IT, it's the REAL DEAL!

This is my go-to cream whenever I have redness or skin reactions and need "recovery" time from other beauty products, like retinols or active moisturizers. It is especially awesome after a visit to the esthetician and the removal of milia. I recently had an overabundance and made an appointment where it took her over an hour to remove 75% of them - I couldn't handle any more - leaving me to look like Frankenstein and his brides scary child. But I used this with some bio-oil only on my face for three days and everything healed beautifully. I've used this product for years when I have reactions. It's a bit pricy for every day use, but I always keep it on hand, especially in the winter when my sensitive skin reacts more often. It's supposed to be save for patients who have skin irritation from cancer and radiation treatment as well. Very gentle, not greasy, absorbs very quickly and completely unscented and fragrance free.

I suddenly developed severe skin allergies and have spent great months seeking somethingi could tolerate i fouf this afternoon probably 50 other attempts. As I still search for specific things to improve my rashes and pain.and itching to this is still the only thing I can definitely tolerate.after spending easily $1k truly despite useless multiple excessive dermatologist appointments I found this myself and is all I can use. I discussed through my own trials to be extremely reactive or allergic to shea butter and just recently tested positive for allergies to Amerchol/ lanolin and reactivity to almost every botanical which today's products are LOADED with. Akai Propolis that is in nearly every thing and coconut DEA which the botanicals usually fall under. In short I can't live without this product. I gave very dry skin tlanf multiple autoimmune diseases and honestly my skin changed completely after my last booster shot for COVID-19.i can't prove that as a cat but I can't explain it any other way ...allh holy Grail products which were so few and simple before. Neutrogena wipes or cleanser a d La Rich posay moisturizer.i gas tons if high end things too I used too this booster and have now thrown out 3 boxes of mid to high end cosmetics and skin care. I pray this product stays in production for sensitive skin . I've also recently started HRT for peri menopause vs menopause and am unfortunately getting acne for the first time ever in my life but this product doesn't seem to aggravate the acne. I crave something to rekiy the itching and pain but at least this i can use to moisturize. I hope others can benefit fromu miserable journey. There really need to be more products with Skin Safe ingredients.

I added this cream to my sandwich method using tretinoin and omg I love it!!!!!!! It's creamy, calming, and soothing! I'm so satisfied and have subscribed to it! For someone with extremely sensitive skin it is perfect! I highly recommend!!!

This crème is amazing. I’ve been using it since December 2025 and my skin has drastically improved. I have sensitive skin that will break out in red itchy bumps when I try most products. I have rosacea and melasma and I just started RX for both. This is my routine. AM: Avène Thermal water spray (let dry)Avene Cicalfate+ serum, RX AzelaicAcid, Avene Tolerance control crème (pat on face), tinted SPF. I usually wait at least 5 minutes between each one. PM: pretty much same exact order but I replace Azeliac Acid with Hydroquinone 1month on/off and I apply it first. I will top everything off with a thin layer of Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Crème. I’m really amazed by how well my skin barrier has healed. Here is what a healthy skin barrier should look like…………… Comfortable feel: Your skin does not feel tight, dry, or itchy after you wash it. No stinging: Basic products like gentle cleansers or simple moisturizers feel good and do not hurt. Smooth texture: Your skin looks even and soft with no sudden flaking or red patches. Good bounce: A healthy barrier means skin looks plump, heals fast, and stays strong against everyday stress

I have sensitive skin that is constantly getting irritated by moisturizers/seemingly simple skin care products. I read a few blogs/articles/reviews on different products others have tried for similar issues and this one came up, so I decided to give it a try. It’s nice and light and goes on smoothly. Skin feels moisturized and does not get irritated, so that’s a win! The only reason I took off 1 star is it leaves my skin a bit oily for my liking, but that could just be my skin.

This is the only moisturizer I can tolerate after developing steroid induced pustualr rosacea. I’ve had rashes, pustules, raw peeling skin, dryness, everything you can think of. I absolutely do not tolerate hyaluronic acid or niaminicide, and so many moisturizers include these ingredients. This never burned. I can wear it under makeup and haven’t noticed pilling. I have to take a break from it in the summer because it’s a little heavy for Texas heat, but I use it at night. Love this stuff!

This cream is excellent, perfect for very dry skin, after a just few applications my skin is so soft, absorbs easily, and it has been great on my sensitive skin, definitely recommend

Appena la stendo (viso, collo e contorno occhi) sento subito un sollievo: in pochi secondi spariscono bruciore, pizzicore e senso di tensione. Dopo un paio di giorni la pelle è più calma, meno rossa e la barriera cutanea sembra davvero più forte. Cosa mi è piaciuto di più: Texture leggera, non grassa, si assorbe in un attimo Zero profumo, zero conservanti, formula sterile (perfetta per pelli allergiche) 98 % di ingredienti di origine naturale + D-Sensinose e acqua termale di Avène Idratazione che dura tutto il giorno Adatta anche al contorno occhi e utilizzabile da bambini (dai 2 anni) L’ho usata mattina e sera per settimane e non ho avuto nessun tipo di reazione, anzi: la mia pelle “che reagisce a tutto” è diventata molto più tollerante. Se avete la pelle intollerante, reattiva o allergica e cercate una crema davvero delicata ma efficace, questa è un must. Non tornerò più indietro! Consigliatissima al 100 %.
