No idea what everyone is complaining about
I had no problem putting this together. Super easy. I did it alone. Super sturdy and looks awesome. Just what you would expect for $100. The people whining about it being cheap quality can go spend $500+ for other crap particle board from a furniture store or something. This clearly wasn’t made to last 30 years

Easy to assemble, holds stuff
It isn't as sturdy as I had hoped, but it was pretty easy to put together and fit the space well. So far it is holding up ok, just a little wobbly.

For the price, this is surprisingly good quality.
First, let me say this is a $50 bookshelf, so if you're expecting the highest manufacturing quality you're just being unrealistic. That said, I have to say I was QUITE surprised by this set of shelves. I ordered two of them, to bookend a larger bookshelf that was quickly running out of room - only one has arrived so far, but I've got it together and upright.I have assembled more of this kind of "cam" furniture than I even care to think about - plus I'm nearly pro-level with tools, so I did not expect any difficulties with this assembly, beyond the possibility of the instructions, which I've found vary GREATLY from manufacturer to manufacturer. Anymore, the instructions are always just diagram heavy, and these were that way, too. I did not find the assembly difficult, but see some issues below. The pictures were clear enough, what little written directions were also clear enough. I'm a "senior" woman, and working alone it took me about an hour to fully assemble. Some things of note:1) The individual panels are HORRIBLY labeled. In most cases, there is a small black letter on one of the edges of the panel only. Strangely, only the two doors had stickers on them with their designated letters - everything else was those small, difficult to locate letters. When my second one arrives, the FIRST thing I'm going to do is pull out my sticky notes and label each one as I pull them out of the box. It will make the process much faster.2) The package is VERY heavy, had an "Over 70 pounds" warning on it, but I was quite shocked when I went to upend the unit, to put it into place and it lifted up quite easily. So I do not think working alone on this should be a problem for anyone. Honestly, the biggest headache was getting it in off my porch, in the box from UPS!3) The doors had surprisingly nice cabinet hinges - at this price, I was expecting cheap hinges and even cheaper door handles. These are the same kind of cabinet hinges I have in my kitchen, and the handles are metal, not plastic. I had read about people having difficulties getting the doors to line up right, but while these aren't perfect they're fine, and they close together nicely.4) I was expecting this to be wobbly when I got it upright, as has been my experience with some others, but was shocked when it slid into place without the slightest wobble. In the picture I"m going to attach it looks wonky because the existing old shelf to the right needs to be squared up against it, and just isn't yet.5) I really did not expect the shelves in this to be very sturdy, which concerned me because they would be holding books, which can get real heavy fast. But these are quite solid panels, no sag at all, even fully loaded.Overall, gotta' say I'm surprised - and pleased. The second one will go together more easily, now that I know the routine. For the price, this is a bargain.

Value for the money
I have to say first and foremost I like the bookshelf. We purchased two with the intention of replacing one larger one that was just substandard. The directions to put them together could be a bit better but with a little common sense, they were fairly simple. With that said... the REALLY bad. The hinges were overthought. They are designed to get the best adjustment out of them from a multi-axis perspective, however, the material is very weak, and the directions to adjust them are terrible. While trying to adjust the first door the hinge became stripped and is no longer usable. The second door was also never set properly. I thought, "It must be a one time deal.", that was incorrect. With the second bookshelf, the doors were just as bad. I have no intention of dealing with these hinges so I will invest in better hinges and apply those. Overall, a solid 3.9 stars, a loss of one full star just for the hinge issue.

Poor quality
I bought these bookcases for my homeschool room. They look OK for now but I wish I would’ve just spent the money and bought some that were better quality. The price on these was low but In my opinion I still think it’s overpriced for what you get as far as quality is concerned. Some of the pieces arrived dirty scratched and slightly dented. We had already started to build the bookcase so we continued assembling but hoped that Amazon would make it right. Unfortunately we were referred to the manufacturer who just wants to send the replacement parts and I am not taking the bookcase apart and starting over. Not confident the replacement part will be sent without defects.

Great quality
Our teenage daughter wanted this for her room. She is a bookworm and has quite the collection started. She's 15 and put this bookshelf together all by herself. The doors are a little wonky, but its just the uneven stress on the floor. If you push is lightly, the doors straighten out. Once we have it anchored to the wall and her books are in place, I'll take another picture, but for now, we love this bookshelf and I think it will last for a good long time. It has an adjustable shelf behind the doors and two more adjustable shelf above. The box arrived perfect from Amazon, all the parts were in the box and the instructions were well written. All around, 5 stars!

Does it's job! You get what you pay for, this is a bit nicer than that!
Very nice bookcase. A bit of a pain in the a@@ to assemble. Definitely need two people if you don't want to waste your whole day screwing this thing together. As for the other reviews of people complaining about the doors.... it is true. They were the worst! Mine are still not even, but we got very close and they close but close very tight together. Spent an hour fiddling with the hinges. It would have been nice if y'all didn't put the letter stickers on the outside so they were hidden in the inside. For as heavy as the package was you'd think it would be a bit more sturdy, but it does it's job for me!

Perfect fit! Dress it up or dress it down! Looks great!
Well, I'll say looks neat. I got the black one and goes nicely and fits exactly based on measurements shown. I'll note for some inspiration for others 37 year old female, put together myself, box was a bit heavy but was able to pivot back n forth into home and start emptying the box and getting to work. Took some time but was accomplished! P.s Ameriwood was so great I did have a slip up just from my own rushing and I submitted a replacement on their website and recieved a free replacement in no time. Awesome! Will for sure order again from them!
