New Memory foam is higher density.
Well, I'm quite surprised by all the positive reviews. This is not the solution (for me anyway). The first couple of minutes is great, then memory foam does what it's designed to do (which is to give -compress under pressure points). When memory foam is on your bed that's a good thing, it lets your hip sink while supporting your body. On a seat cushion for a rower it just compresses down under your tail bone providing almost no cushioning. You can squeeze this between your thumb and forefinger and compress it down to about an eighth of an inch. So memory foam is actually a very poor choice for this application. A better choice would be confor foam. They have 3 densities that are typically stacked together (when used in high end aircraft seats). Unfortunately confor foam is pretty pricy and would probably double or triple the cost of the cushion. I've actually had better luck with those $5 stadium seat cushions. Update: July 1 2017. I just received a replacement. It's the new version and is significantly better all around so I've bumped my review from 3 to 5 stars. 1. The cushion cover is a much better design - no big seam around the perimeter. 2. Different material that is much more "breathable" 3. The cover has a zipper so it's much easier to get the foam out when you want to wash the cover. 4. Most importantly, The foam is still memory foam but is of higher density so my tailbone didn't sink down to the hard plastic seat. 5. I guess I'll add that it has straps as an improvement but I don't understand how any seat cushion could move on a rower - somebody isn't doing it right if you're scooting your butt around. I cut the straps off mine.

Comfortable
Very comfortable seat to place on top of indoor rowing seat, certainly helps with the uncomfortable original seat and for those longer rowing sessions.

Should come with every rowing machine
Works great! So much better than a hard plastic seat, thank you

Fits concept rower perfectly.
I can now row for 30 minutes comfortably with this cushion. I have to stop at 15 without it.

Makes Rowing a Joy and Improved my Performance
I love rowing, I've rowed on water and am just getting into routinely rowing on a machine, but I have always found the seats so painful, I've struggled to do a decent workout because of bottom pain, no matter how I adjusted myself or what padding (a fleece jacket or something in desparation) I've used. I bought this and IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. There are only a few reviews in the UK, but I want to add to them! It's made rowing a joy. You sit on it, it doesn't slide off or around or make you feel unstable in any way. You sit on it, you row. And row. And row. I even got complimented on my rowing last time I went on the machine, and it's down to being comfortable and relaxed due to this seat. How it would work in an actual boat - I don't know - it should work well, but definitely on a machine - it's fab.
