Works just fine for me LED ceiling light.
Needed my ceiling light permentaly dimmed and this works well. Is small enough to route a small slot in my light to hide.

It is not a direct replacement.

Very easy repair, but replacement knob looks cheap.
First things first, I do not buy dimmer switches often so I couldn't say if I paid a good price for this or not. I had bought a used lamp and it was broken so I bought this part for repairing it. Removal and installation were incredibly easy on my lamp, just screwing a few screws, one washer, and the screw on caps for the cables (I am not an electrician so I do not know the real name for this part). But incredibly simple very hard to mess up as long as you take a photo before you replace the part. My only gripe is the replacement "gold" knob. It is very plastic my, but that is not as much an issue when it is on the lamp. It also is not all that well finished and you can see the poor finishing especially well when the light is on. Also, maybe it is just my eyes, but the color seems to have an ever so slight greenish undertone unlike any other golden metallics I've ever seen. But that is really my only gripe, aside from any possible failures of theñis switch at a later date and time.

Not product as depicted. The drawing shows the shank as being removeable, which is required for my install. Without the removeable shank, product will not fit down the tube of the floor lamp. Didn’t even test to see if the dimmer worked.

The main shaft to short
I was trying to replace the dimmer switch in my headboard the main shift way to short, so I wasn't able to use it
