Good quality paper
I was pleasantly surprised at the paper in this book - it feels luxurious for the price I paid! I bought a small book, but when I got it it was smaller than I thought it would be - I'm exchanging it for a larger book, because this paper is worth it! It feels like a Canson paper to me, at a much lower price, yet in a hard cover book that won't get tatty as I haul it around with me.

Big as 10 inch iPad :)
As soon as I got it, I drew mp100- :DThe paper is not rough or does not ruin easily when erasing dark pencil marks 10/10!

Smooth Pages, Reliable and Complementary
This has been my art companion for years. I've filled six of these sketchbooks with both sides of their pages packed with notes, drawings, painting and scrapbooking, and they have yet to give me a reason why I should use anything else for paper-related writing or drawing. If you're using it almost every day, the cover spine will start to fall off after a year under constant wear, but by then you'll so close to finishing that you'll just slap a piece of black duct tape on it or finish out the pages to move onto the next one. Colors and Ink (aside from sharpie) don't bleed onto the other side or the page, and it's definitely worth it's price tag.I always order a metal symbol or icon and hot glue it to the cover with metal cover tips to make it look more like a spellbook, but it fits great for the professional sketcher and the doodling hobbyist. If it goes to say the quality of the cover and it's sturdiness, I Ieft one out in the rain for an hour by accident, but I couldn't tell you which one of the six it was.

Easy to take only on Trips for Watercolor Sketching
I needed some of this size watercolor field books for my students. I had bought several watercolor traveling pocket size palettes with colors for them. I had also found some more of the same palette online with Amazon that was included with their own brand of 7" by 10" watercolor spiral bound field book. This other is only 24 pages of about 100 lb. cold press watercolor paper, while this watercolor field book has 36 pages of 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper. And, as is mentioned, you can paint on both sides of the paper which makes it 72 pages. I like to take these field books on trips and sketch in watercolor as well as ink and watercolor. I plan to teach my students on some of the methods and materials that I use. This Fall at the end of class in November I plan to give my students a traveling watercolor palette with 7 by 10 inch watercolor field books as a gift. I have many repeat students, so I have to come up with something new each time. Some of my students have asked me to write a book so that while we are gone on our trips they can continue to paint along with me. Many of my classes I have given them free DVD of my demonstration as well as the live 30 minutes to a hour demonstration of the step by step method of doing a watercolor painting. We also give them gifts of 4" by 6" gloss photo of their completed painting. This watercolor field book with be another gift to our many students. We have used these field books in Yosemite, Monterey Bay, Hawaii, Tahiti, Mexico and Paris.

perfect sketchbook for studies
The media could not be loaded. at first i thought this would be another off-brand cheap black cover sketchbook but was surprised to find it's quite sturdy. Its pages are slightly thicker than printer paper with some slight tooth and it lays pretty flat with no unstitching so far.It holds some wet media well too, surprisingly! I have used brush pen, ink, watercolor and thick gouache, and it held remarkably well with little to no wrinking after drying and kept closed shut for a while.I'd recommend it for studies as it has a ton of pages (110 sheets) and is comfortable to draw in.

A budget friendly sketchbook.
Honestly, this is one of the best basic sketchbooks I've ever bought. The paper quality is decent for most dry media and markers. I would absolutely recommend this product.

Not for me BUT
Good size book but the paper has a medium tooth and the paper is on the rougher side - doesn't erase well and dulls graphite and high-end coloured pencils. I haven't tested charcoal or pens on the paper. If you're looking for smoother paper this is not for you. I shan't be buying it again.UPDATE: So I said it's not a good sketch book for me BUT with pastels and charcoal it sure grabbed the colours and blackness quite well. I also started using it as a preliminary or practice sketch book for not for drawings that require fine tooth paper. So I changed the rating from 2 stars to 4 stars for those reasons, pastels, charcoal and just mindless practice practice practice.
