Ok so your Farmtrac 60 tractor starter is struggling. You know like yun yun dead. Do what I did. Buy one of these. Made in India. But! be prepared to do some work. Get a good collection of extensions. If your fat find a skinny friend. My tractor has a FEL on it so that makes the contortions even more fun. Here is what I recommend. Disconnect the banjo bolts on either side of the dual fuel filter assembly. Disconnect the Fuel filter assembly from the tractor by removing the two bolts that hold it on...don't worry...they just back out of the mounting point...there is no nut to worry about.Now that the assembly is removed you will have some room to remove the evil third bolt. Have a beer. Think about it. Make sure you have a magnetic tool to fish out the bolt after you drop it...later when you try to restart it.Leave one bolt in the front. It will take you a while to remove the back bolt between the engine block and starter. After you remove it then remove the remaining outboard bolt while holding the starter with your other hand. Yay!Now for the hard part. Get your new starter in position. Secure it in place with the two outboard bolts. Drink another beer. Make sure you have a magnetic fishing tool because you will drop the third bolt unless you have Houdini like abilities. Keep working. You will get it to start eventually.Ok, you did it. You are the king of the world. Now you have to put everything back together. Of course you need to reattach the battery cables and starter wires. Now you need to install the fuel filter assembly. OK done? Now You need to prime the system. Then loosen all of the connectors at the top of each fuel injector. Then get up on your steed and crank until you see spray/seepage from the loosened fittings. Remember it doesn't take much just loosen those connectors a wee bit...that fuel injector pump produces a lot of pressure. When you see fuel coming from all of the injector fittings retighten them. Now crank your tractor. Expect a bit of missing until all the air is out of the system.While I was doing this I also made new battery cables and changed a fuel filter. Great product. Would by again. Plan on spending about 4 to 8 hours on this project if you are just a regular guy like me. A super human tractor mechanic can probably do it in a couple hours.
