It’s pretty good. Doesn’t kill anything though
I think it just stuns the bugs. They appear dead on the paper after wiping out of the comb, but after a while they do start moving again. It says on the bottle it kills them, but it seems to just stun them. Still really love it, you must comb out after though because they don’t die. I used the shampoo and then used conditioner after rinsing and combed my kids hair out WITH the conditioner still in their hair, it really makes coming so much easier as this shampoo tends to make their hair super tangled and hard to manage.

Kills lice.... I don't think so.
I think this product is for all the people who think they have body lice or hair lice. Is a psychological fix. You see, I've met people who told me they had lice but never came close enough to getting them. Yet, I've started itching just thinking about it. I've gone on mission trips where scabies or bed bugs are possible exposures. Bed bug bites, well yah that happened but never brought them home. Permethrin spray is the weapon for that. Again, my whole body itched just thinking about the exposure. This treatment is partly psychological. The physical treatment is the oil. Not for the lice but for dermatitis. It could be dry skin dermatitis that just makes skin feel itchy. It is very soothing. I love using this product at the end of bathing just for my skin. It leaves it moist, soft and never itchy. Great product but not for lice.

Works
Works good when you want a defense to keep lice away, it’s not grease and it smells good, does not have a over powering smell

Great product
I am a teacher in elementary school. We had lice. I used this shampoo, and did not become infected. My hair smelled great!

Warning - not the same as prior version
This used to be a good product and I had used it satisfactorily in the past. The manufacturer says they recently "reformulated" and made it better. I had finished up my last bottle, so ordered a new one to have on hand. Yesterday I opened the new one. At that time I was unaware of the formula change(s) and not expecting anything different from my prior experiences with the product. It looked the same and initially seemed to smell the same. But after just a few seconds on my head as I worked it into a lather, it suddenly released an intense ammonia-like odor. The sharp fumes made it so difficult to breathe that I threw open the shower door for desperate gulps of fresher air, but the strong fumes were still coming from the stuff on my head. To make matters worse, this new formula was thicker - almost greasy - and seemed to "stick" to my hair so it was proving difficult to rinse out. In desperation I grabbed some regular shampoo and applied a small amount which helped dissolve and remove the Vamousse. Incidentally, this wasn't an allergic reaction - just a violent adverse effect from the noxiously concentrated fumes. I don't know whether something went awry in the quality control for their "new" formulation or what. But using this new Vamousse with the new "eucalyptus" odor was more like sticking my head straight into an ammonia bottle (not that I've had that experience). I have no clue if it still kills or deters lice, but it has effectively deterred me! If you still decide to try it, I urge you to approach with caution!
