Actual 4K video!
I've used a ton of trailcams for my work (I've even built custom units). My biggest complaint about the latest crop of video trailcams is the extremely poor sensors and poor resolution. Many of these cameras might claim to be HD (1080 X 1920) or 4K (3840 X 2160), but they are often 720 X 1280 and poorly interpolated by the camera software. In the case of 4K the video will be 3840 X 2160 when checked on a computer but it will look like mush because the actual resolution is terrible. Its just a marketing trick. This model of ECOVOX is actually shooting in native 4K. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled the video files.I did not test night vision mode and did not use the app. This is just my review of the daytime shooting and I am impressed. My true fantasy would be to find a 4k trailcam that has the dynamic range, resolution, and color of a GoPro - but I have not found that yet.

fully enclosed wifi trail cam with locking hole
I am writing to explain how much I enjoy using this EcoVox wild life cameras. The entire case and backing is made of a durable thick plastic that allows for the camera to withstand the elements and weigh less than a bottle of water that allows me to carry it and mount wherever I decide. The mounting options include a steel round bracket that you can screw into a deck or wall then attach using the screw from the pivot head to the bottom of the trail camera just like morning a camera to a tripod. But I have chosen using the green straps that can go around a tree and through the loops on the back. The loops and counted braces on the back also have plastic molded raised bars that grip the tree and provide gap underneath for the strap to help secure. The setup menu system is very straightforward and I was able to set the date and time then the pir sensitity along with capture modes. This trail cam version has an internal battery compartment that is protected by the thin rubber gasket between the Front half with the pir sensors and lcd screen inside. To use this I simply scan the QR code listed in the manual and download the app called Hunting Camera 4K ( the author is in Chinese character ) The camera will light up a blue led on the top left and then I can connect my phone to the camera. I then can take a photo or video from the trail camera and see this live on my phone. This connection also allows me to view and download all photos and videos that the trail camera recorded. I needed to purchase a 64gb full size SDHC but those are under $10. The trail camera will make a camera shutter sound when using the phone option and this can be turned off in the setup.

Good picture quality, long battery life, good value
The media could not be loaded. I've got a few trail cams, and this is my favorite! I like almost everything about this one. It's small, and well camouflaged. It virtually disappears at 10 feet. It uses AA batteries, so your not trying to charge your cam out in the woods, and you don't need to buy an extra trailcam so you can cycle through charging them at camp. The picture quality is awesome, day and night. This is the best night vision trail cam I've bought. I've had a few more expensive tail cams, but they still didn't work as well. I'm using a micro sd card, in a full size SD card adapter, it works well for me.I was concerned about the AA batteries. Previously I've used rechargeable, or D cell powered trail cameras, with good battery life. This is better, much better actually. I guess it's just newer technology? But, the battery life is better than either of the other options. Like I mentioned above, you're not trying to charge it out in the woods. Also, I really thought the older D cell battery trailcam would outlast this one. It goes about two weeks. This one is still on the original batteries after almost a month! The wifi isn't what I had hoped for, it works as designed. But, I would really like to view the pics & control (change the settings, check battery level) it through a wifi hotspot. It's just not designed to work that way. Maybe with a future firmware update? It would be nice to have five of these on a cellular hotspot.I thought about what I would want to see in a review, so I'm adding some pictures from the house. I'm not sure why, but pics from the woods have better night vision distance than what I'm posting at the house. Maybe because there is a very dull glow from the nearby town in the background? In the woods, it's just dark. Seems like that glow would help though?I didn't realize when I ordered it, that it shows the temperature. It's actually really accurate too! One of my other trailcams had that, but was never accurate, or even consistent with itself, it wasn't off by the same number of degrees, always high, or always low. The old one just seemed random with the temp. This one is very accurate! I like that feature.Good quality trail camera, good price. 👍

Great Camera BUT had to send it back
At first I loved this camera, but after just a day it went wrong. Firstly the sound was really bad and only picked up sound that was very close to the unit, and then secondly it just stopped recording. If this is just a dud then I imagine a replacement would have been perfect, however, the price went up a lot and became out of budget.UPDATE: I have been plagued with emails from this company asking me to remove this review as it is affecting their sales! They have sent umpteen emails offering me Amazon vouchers for my trouble!!! They first offered £10 then £20 then £30 and then £40. It seems they are not understanding what the reviews are about, HONESTY. This review will be staying and I will change nothing. Personally I will not buy anything from this company ever again - No NOT AMAZON, they are not the ones sending the emails - although the emails do say that they are coming from AMAZON, but I know they are not.SO IF AMAZON WISH TO CONTACT ME OVER THIS COMPANY, PLEASE DO SO AND I WILL SEND YOU THE EMAILS THAT WERE SENT.

Might be a very good camera!
I intended this camera to detect animal wildlife in my garden. It’s capability enabling remote monitoring via WiFi was a prime reason I selected this model! This camera will not connect to my WiFi even though it was positioned near an access point providing 60mbs/per sec.. I spent two days attempting to connect with no joy. Bluetooth connection to my phone can be enabled but has to set up again every time it is used. This camera may be capable of providing very good results but as I am unable to use it I cannot comment on this. My WiFi system is SkyQ which can be ‘picky’. I can connect other devices to it but not this camera. I would suggest potential buyers who use SKyQ broadband hesitate and make online enquires before buying this camera!. It appears well built and solid. The support facility is appalling. I can neither recommend nor warn against hence my 2 star rating. I have returned the camera thanks to Amazon’s sensible, generously long and unpicks returns policy

Calling this a 30mp camera is a blatant lie
I’m just going to concentrate on the fact that annoyed me most about this item and that is the stated resolution of 30 megapixels.I read about this camera on the manufacturers website, as well as on Amazon. Nowhere is the true resolution revealed. Only when I read the user’s manual did I find the truth. While you can select resolutions from 2MP to 30MP, any resolution above 5MP is interpolated! This is absolutely shocking to me. Their adverts show nice sharp clean images from the 30MP, but the reality is that the photo will be taken at 5MP and then processed digitally to be scaled up from 5 to 30MP. So any flaws in the original 5MP image are magnified along with the rest of the picture. This practice does NOT lead to sharp high resolution pictures, it leads to picture lacking real detail. I have attached a photo of the relevant page in the manual, in which they actually admit this.If they simply stated 5MP I would have accepted it as an acceptable quality for checking on wildlife in a location, which I could come back to with my own (better) camera. It is the blatant lie of this description which I find offensive.

First wildlife camera
Having been into photography for a long time, I have owned a range of cameras, including the traditional digicams, SLRs, action cameras. I decided to try out a wildlife camera this time, to capture any wildlife that might stray into the area. This camera came nicely packaged with a set of instructions. You do need a whole bunch of AA batteries. Thankfully there are plenty of good options for alkaline batteries, as well as high capacity rechargeable ones. The manufacturers also suggest using solar power, but I haven’t had a chance to try that yet.Setting up and use is fairly intuitive. The menu and interface on the back panel is easy to follow. Picture quality is pretty good. Videos are playable using VLC which is my default player on the laptop.Overall a good experience so far. Nothing to complain about. Hopefully will get some good use out of it.

A worthwhile contender
With so many wildlife cameras to choose from it took me a lot of researching before I settled on this unit by the brand Aytarr.Comes with all the bells and whistles that the leading competitors come with, yet this little camera is a fraction of the cost.Bluetooth and app control work well as does the night vision. The resolution is breathtaking as you’d expect with 4K.
