What a waste of money
I used some of the original Amie skincare products as a teenager many years ago now and I remember really loving them. Even though they’ve completely rebranded/reformulated I was excited to try this range thinking it would be a similar idea. But these new products are just awful and a complete waste of time and money. It’s not often that I throw skincare products in the bin, most things can be used up even if they’re not that great. But most of this range is just unusable :(First of all - all of these products apart from the wipes are heavily fragranced. To me, it’s smells like the scented range of the leading brand sanitary pads so not the nicest smell… It’s a very synthetic and exhausting smell, which does nothing to improve the experience. The wipes were the only product I did manage to finish and that is only because you need to get through so many of them to take even light make up. They won’t last longer than a few days if you wear make up daily. Even then, they never managed any of my mascaras and I always had to go over with another cleanser, which defeats the point. Both the face wash and the moisturiser have very runny, thin textures. Neither of them do their jobs particularly well. The face wash doesn’t foam which is fine for me in other products but the face just doesn’t feel or look clean after using this one - not great for a cleanser. The moisturiser is overly fragranced for a leave-in product and irritated my skin. It soaks in immediately which may work well for some but it offered zero moisturising effect for me - it was as if I’d put water on my face and it just sank in immediately, with no difference to the condition of the skin. The spray just does nothing, it’s essentially perfumed water and a waste of time. It’s also quite irritating on the skin.Very disappointed in how this turned out. I’m afraid the only positive I can say is that I love the new packaging - it really is lovely and an upgrade from the old range. But we all know with skincare it’s what’s on the inside that counts and I just don’t think this reformulation is doing Amie any favours. The bundle wasn’t especially expensive - £20 for 4 products including a 100ml moisturiser would be great if the products worked, but it does end up a complete waste of money if you have to throw them away.
