He is not what I would consider soft like those mushy stuffed animals. He is firm so that he stands up straight.

Q: Are his eyes sown on and fabric or are they hard plastic? Thanks!

The eyes are hard plastic. We have had this toy 4 years or so and it has held together well. Even our German Shepherd puppy got it for a few minutes.
