Bought this for my Dad who is in his 70's. He was absolutely delighted and keeps phoning me with updates about his progress. Although he has arthritis in his fingers he is still able to manipulate the small components. My Dad is a retired engineer and isn't easily impressed but he is genuinely enthusiastic about the accuracy of the cutting and the quality and design of the kit. He reckons it will take him weeks to complete and is very happy about that! As far as I'm concerned it's money well spent, he couldn't be happier with his present and it will give him hours of pleasure. Then he will get to fire tiny arrows at his children when they come to visit, which will no doubt delight him further. Highly recommended present for hard to please Dads, but I think I might get myself one of these kits to keep me entertained at Xmas.

This is a Christmas present so I can only review on the fact that it was delivered in one piece, undamaged but don’t have an opinion on the contents yet

I'm a big fan of these laser cut wooden kits, and they get more complex all the time, but this working model of a medieval ballista is a good starter set: It does have two different mechanisms included, vertical and horizontal, but they are both along single axes and therefore comparatively simple.Everything you need is contained in the sets, but I would also get a scalpel and some superglue, as some of the parts are very fiddly and can easily be snapped. When you're making, , ensure everything's correct before you move on. You can't really take these back apart, and if one thing is wrong, they don't work. So be patient.30+ is a lot for some die-cut plywood, of course, but the amount of work that goes into designing them and making them function must be astonishing, so you're paying for that, really. I think the time that they fill, and the attractive outcomes, make them worth the expense. This one actually fires arrows, too, and you even get a little Viking.

I'm a huge fan of puzzles, and I absolutely loved putting this one together. It's a whole different experience compared to normal flat-picture puzzles because it's almost like a combination of wood-crafting and miniature-building.The pieces are excellent quality and the instructions simple enough to follow. Everything fits together perfectly.The final result is brilliant. It looks unique on display and I feel quite proud of having completed it all! The fact that the ballista is actually functional and can hurl the little arrows across is just icing on the cake!I think the 2 hr assembly time is a bit optimistic - it took me around 5.5 hours, but I enjoyed every bit of itHighly recommended!If this review helped, please click on the ‘helpful’ button to let others know! Ich bin ein großer Fan von Holzpuzzles. Wir haben bereits ein Riesenrad und einen Zug. Das Aufbauen macht Spaß und ist super für Erwachsene, Teenager oder eine Kombination aus Beidem.Diese lustige Ballista schaut auf der Anleitung etwas komplizierter aus, als ich es von den Anleitungen der anderen Puzzles gewöhnt bin. Dort ist alles in kleineren Schritten abgebildet. Mir fiel es dennoch leicht der Anleitung zu folgen.Die Einzelteile lassen sich leicht aus den Brettchen drücken. Bei filigraneren Teilen ist jedoch etwas Vorsicht geboten. Auch das wachsen der Zahnräder sollte sehr genau erfolgen, sonst wird das später etwas schwierig, genau zu zielen. 😉Es ist interessant mit der Zeit die Ballista wachsen zu sehen und dabei die Mechanik nachzuvollziehen. Meine funktioniert tadellos. 😉So wird der Nachwuchs beim Betreten nun mit einem „Hände hoch!“ gewarnt. Ist er zu langsam, so erfolgt direkt ein Warnschuss. 😉All zu oft kann man mit der Ballista jedoch nicht schießen. Der Mechanismus wird stark unter Zug gebracht und so brechen von der Schiene schnell ein paar Splitter ab. Die Schiene ist jedoch noch einmal als Ersatzteil dabei und kann somit einmal ausgetauscht werden.Ein schönes Dekoobjekt mit gelegentlichem Nutzen. Ich kann nur empfehlen, am Schreibtisch mal auf den nebenan sitzenden Partner zu zielen. 😉

Lierfumfang:Holzplatten mit BausätzenAnleitungWachsRezension:Dieser Robotime Bausatz gehört wie auch die Kanone aus selbigen Hause eher zu dem Thema Mittelalter.Alle Bauteile sind wie immer per Laser vorgeschnitten und einfach aus den Holzplatten herauszubrechen.Der Zusammenbau ist per gut bebildeter Anleitung sehr einfach, manchmal etwas kniffelig.Im fertigen Zustand hat man eine kleine ballistische Armbrust wie sie auch im Mittelalter Verwendung fand.Diese kann mittels drei Pfeilen (enthalten) "geladen" werden. Durch einen Abzug schießen die Pfeile heraus.Allerdings muss man hier wirklich aufpassen. Die Pfeile sind schon spitz und das kann ins Auge gehen. Daher ist dieser Bausatz absolut kein Kinderspielzeug und eher für Erwachsene geeignet.Fazit:Mittelalter Fans, die gerne ein kleines Sammelsurium haben wollen, können mit dieser Armbrust-Ballistik ihr Regal füllen.Allerdings muss man wie schon erwähnt aufpassen bezüglich der Pfeile. Diese sollte man immer ungeladen neben der Armbrust-Ballistik liegen haben.Mir gefällt es jedenfalls sehr gut. Daher fünf Sterne von mir!

Wie bei jeden Holzpuzzle sind die einzelnen Teile noch auf ihrer Holzplatte befestigt und müssen vorsichtig losgebrochen werden. Das ging ganz problemlos und was mir dabei besonders gut gefallen hat sind die Teile, welche schon direkt mit Mustern und Verzierungen versehen sind.Der Zusammenbau war mit Hilfe der Anleitung überhaupt kein Problem und auch die beweglichen Teile, welche hier wirklich reichlich vorhanden sind, lassen sich am Ende des Zusammenbaus problemlos bewegen.Die Funktionen, (drehen, ausrichten, schießen) sind wirklich ganz wunderbar und der ganze Mechanismus hat auch nicht genug Kraft jemanden wirklich zu verletzen. Am besten fliegen die Pfeile mit einer Entfernung von maximal 2 Metern.Ich habe mich jedenfalls sehr gefreut dieses Modell zusammen zu bauen und ein paar Pfeile durch das Zimmer sausen zu lassen.
