Cummins 1552449 RV Generator Part

I have a pick up camper with the Onan 2500lp. The exhaust comes straight out the bottom for about two feet and turns to the rear with about two feet of pipe. Like this it has a higher pitched pop sound. I installed this in the horizontal pipe and it did quieten the sound some but the best part was the change in tone and frequency. It went to a humming sound which is easier on the ears. This is a straight through resonator so shouldn't increase back pressure. Only problem I had was finding the reducing fitting from the small pipe on my 2500. It would probably fit larger gen sets perfect.

Excellent, rugged, and heavy build with interior sound-deadening mesh without any obstruction of exhaust gas pathway. I apply (slide on) the muffler to the exhaust pipe end only when in use in a crowded campground as a courtesy to other campers.

Well made, but only lowered the sound of my Thor Sequence / Cummins Onan generator a couple of decibels. Not sure it was worth the time & money.

2014 Travato Rv with a 2800 watt Onan generator. Put this on and used my decibel meter and not a single number difference in sound level. Even a little would of been helpful but it was zero, zip, nada! Looks pretty and would of been easy to install but no difference in sound so I am sending it back. Hard to make these generators any quieter. Wish Honda would get into the game!
