You can either dose this based on ppm of Iodine with a separate test kit or based on calcium consumption. If based on Ca consumption, the instructions are as follows: dose 1 mL of this product for every 20ppm of Ca replaced per 25 gallons. So if your Calcium goes down 20ppm in 7 days and your aquarium is 100 gallons then you add 4mL per week. If your Ca goes down 10ppm in 7 days and your aquarium is 100 gallons, then you dose 2mL/week. If that math is too difficult or you can't use test kits to measure in ppm then you probably aren't going to have a good time running a reef aquarium or growing coral. Just got this product, so I will come back and update color results in a month.1.5 MONTH UPDATE: I used Red Sea Reef Colors A-D and started dosing Brightwell Amino Acids. The rockwork was repositioned so the base of the acropora in the picture is in better lighting, but overall the green and blues are deeper. I have noticed a deeper color in all of my acros, but this was the only one of which I had a recent before picture.

Stuff always helps out. Im never doing water changes anywhere near often. So dosing helps keep some levels up. ABCD i use all 4 and believe they definitely help bring some vivid colors out. But as a reefer we all know stability is key.

Red Sea is my fav for trace elements. I know exactly how much to does and can differentiate my trace elements based on the needs of my tank corals at any given time
