The Best of Both Worlds
I was looking for headphones that offered good clarity and decent bass in one package, and these delivered. The clarity is comparable to the entry level Sennheiser headphones I have (HD 558), but the sound is... warmer? I think that's the term. If you happen to be looking for flat/neutral sound, you might be better off with a set of open Sennheiser headphones. Anyway... I also enjoy the base in these headphones. It has a decent impact but doesn't overwhelm the rest of the audio.I have a history with bad cables for my previous Sol Republic headphones (the original Tracks), but those were easy enough to replace. I've had no issues so far with the cables that came with these headphones, and they do seem like they might be a little more robust than Sol Republic cables I've had in the past.Overall, this is a solid set of headphones that are well worth what I paid for them. Great sound, good comfort, and a stylish look to top things off.

The only headphones I will ever buy.
These headphones are a hidden gem, these are my third pair and I’m completely satisfied with them. I don’t know why people buy overpriced Deats heaphones when you can have these and have your ears happy. These headphones are very comfortable to wear and you can customize the line cord, drivers and headbands to however you like, oh, and the headband IS indestructible! As for the sound on the HD2, they have a surround sound to them, it warms up the music and you can just hear the clarity of all the instruments involved, when I bought my first pair, I could hear instruments that I never knew were their, I compared them to Deats Solo, and I instantly just gave those Solo’s away. These are a must buy.

Mostly awesome, except for one (important) detail.
I want to love these so much, and they are mostly awesome: They look sleek and fashionable, the sound quality is great, and the price isn't cheap but doesn't break the back. Unfortunately, I had to remove one star because after about 1.5 hours of wearing these they started to feel pretty tight on my ears and after 2 hours I had to remove them completely due to my level of discomfort. I bought these specifically for the purpose of using in my upcoming transatlantic flight, and I'm sad to say I already know I won't make it the whole 8 hours with these on.

Best headphones ever
This is a very good product. This is my favorite set of headphones that I bought and it's not the first time. It's easy to shop for all parts you need In case of something happening. I love these headphones they sounds great and they look great. The only thing I dont like is that more people dont buy these headphones and experiance great music quality. Best headphones I've ever bought.

I recommend Sol Republic they are a good brand and the sound quality is amazing. I got them for my girlfriend and she loves them. The only problem i had though was the cable. the right side didnt work properly i had to wiggle it to make the sound play. I wish they came with a spare cable so i wouldnt have to be writing this.

Great headphones; crappy cable!
I bought these to use on a 12-hour flight. Wasn't sure if they would be appropriate for seat-back movies, so I submitted a question and received several positive replies. The headphones (gold and black happened to be the cheapest) are good looking, comfortable and requires NO assembly. Simply slide the band into each earpiece and adjust as needed (I have a small head and after some minor adjusting the fit was perfect!) The price is excellent, which is good because you will need to buy a better cable. The cable that comes with is thin and looks like it will break if you pull it hard. So rather than risk it I bought a better quality cable. The headphones comes with a nice carrying case, which is necessary since they don't fold at all. I also opted for the $2.05 SquareTrade 3-Year Home AV Protection Plan warranty...just in case these headphones are not as perfect as they appear to be.

Good Sound, poor materials. Not so comfortable.
I actually got these for a great price, under $40 but the durability is weak. I bought them for long plane rides and my head always hurts after a few hours. I have a very small head size too. Recently my friends have been pulling black crud from my ears, almost 2 years later. The black padding is pretty much deteriorated after light to moderate use. Sound is good. The wires shorted last month so I replaced them.

differences in sound
I had bought the Sol Republic HD's a couple months back before I had bought the HD2's, but from looks, already you can tell that the HD2's are a much sleeker than thr originals. What really confused me was the fact that when the first hd's use to cost 129 $ and the hd2's are 100$.The comfort of this headphone is good but I found that the clamping force is a bit tight, but I got use to it (really just depends on your preference). Compared to the hd's I feel like the hd's have a less clamping force and its probably due to the materials that is used like the hd's have memory foam earpads and now the hd2's have a more protein leather like feel, like you would get with the beats solo 2 or 3 and the beats studio. The hd2's is good for the money and I don't regret it at all.Sound wise it says they sound the exact same but I feel that's not the case. The hd2's have more soundstage and a bit punchier with the bass and that's about the only changes that I seem to have found with it. Either that or im imagining stuff from my ears
