Q: How long is this? (i.e. how many inches tip to tip?)

8 3/4 long and 7oz on my mail scale.

Q: Will this hold open a thick mass market paperback?

I just tested it on one of my larger paperbacks and it does a great job on a 2.25" thick standard mass market book (Atlas Shrugged).

Q: What color is it? I can't tell for sure.

It's a deep brown leather, quite a bit darker than illustrated here. I absolutely love it. I considered a number of the weights offered on Amazon and am not at all disappointed that I ordered this one. I bought one for my grown son as well.

Q: Is the bottom suede? A 2018 review says its not

I have the rubbery kind. There may be another style. Mine does not have suede. I find it is no big deal.
