The Nightmare of Ziel DeLaine: 1 (The Chronicles of Ziel DeLaine) Paperback – 21 May 2021

I order this book on kindle and was recommend it on tiktok. Kindle books are cheap but this book was VERY cheap. Loved it!

This book is very unique from others I have read, and I haven't read anything as good as this in a long time. The writing style is clear and perfect, as well as the characters. I can't wait to read more of her books in the future.

The Nightmare of Ziel DeLaine. Not sure what about this book's synopsis made me want to read it. I usually stay away from numbered books that must be read in order and are most likely a continuum as opposed to a single story. But since it ended up in my kindle library, I read it through than chastised myself at the end b/c numbered books leave an open ending without any closure, and this book was no exception.The author does a good job of setting up the story and the writing is done very well, but if an author such as this can write so well, why do this to your readers? Why leave a cliffhanger ending w/o enough of a story to want to read more?MC Aaron Hearth, [young boy], is tormented throughout the entire story by either bad dreams, scary ghosts that take physical form, or both. For a young boy to go through such torturous events with uncaring/oblivious parents, uncaring/oblivious friends, shuts me down completely. When I get to the end/non-end, I am left with a choice...either purchase the next book to find out what happens to Aaron after he is murdered in the last paragraph of the book, or forever wonder what happened to him.This story arch was not enough to make me want to read more and I find it rather suspect that every starred rating on this book has not a single written review to either hype the story or warn the reader. This is why I am posting. If you like serial books that continue on and on in following books, read on.If you want a complete ending at the end of a book as a reward for sticking it out to the end, that's not going to happen here.If someone had left a review such as what I am writing now, I never would have downloaded this book in the first place as I do not like being left in the dark, hanging on to nothing, and I don't like it when authors do that to their readers.This book had good writing, but not enough to engage further reading.
