please can someone tell me how the valves work on top. do i need to lift them up? push them down? or how does it work as no instructions in the box.

I'm the same, there is no explanation as to whether you are supposed to do anything with the two little valves. In fact they don't move much at all, so I presumed there was nothing to do with them. If there is something you are supposed to do to the valves, it would be nice if there were some guidelines or instructions!

Very tight stubborn lid that won’t budge even with jar opening tools and the lids are plastic, any suggestions?

Have you tried removing the valve, sometimes helps a bit like punching a hole in a tight jam jar lid to release the vacuum. I eventually got rid of my jars because I couldn't grip the lids and the valves stopped working.

Can the lid go in the dishwasher?

Do you need a fermentation weight hor this product. I want to ferment cherry tomatoes

Great jars, if you haven’t got weights and the ingredients need to be kept under fluid, some people say use a heavy pebble, wrap it in plastic, works a treat ! Only used mine for kefir so far, about to do sauerkraut, so I’ll use anything small enough to get into the jar that’s heavy ! Probably better to buy the weights for the job !
