Found that just spooning it onto one side, placing in the cooker with that side down, then covering the top with more batter worked pretty well. Had to work quickly since the cooking starts immediately. The waffle sticks were also fine. The sausage in muffin mix did not work as well, tended to split apart, but probably just needed to cook a bit longer. Most of these items needed to be turned over: cook for 3 minutes, turn, cook another minute or so to brown that side. Often the batter would spill between the sections and had to be cut in order to be able to turn the item. This has been fun and functional. With a tweak of the corn dog recipe (supposedly) included they are good. The original recipe makes them too much like hot dogs in a Pancake. Which gave us the idea to make sausage link Pancake dogs which were delicious. Another downside to this is (I ordered 2) and they both came with the wrong instruction booklet. But, Goggling the product, and serial numbers found on the machine/box.
