Thanks to the reviewer who explained the 7 modes
The instructions that came with the flashlight are rubbish. I was glad to find a review here that explained how to activate each of the 7 modes. Found during the last power outage that my traditional non-LED flash lights were sucking bad and it didn't seem like an easy task to make them serviceable again so I bought 3 of these to upgrade. I was a little disappointed to find that instead of taking 3 C cell batteries, they require 6 AA batteries. That is kind of annoying but otherwise it appears that these will do the job nicely. They are a good size/weight and feel much like the midline Maglite in your hand that could effectively pop someone on the head if need be in a defense situation. It seems that they are waterproof though I have not tested the feature. I would want the ability to add a lanyard if there was such an occasion to use these in a flood scenario because they would sink like a rock and be difficult to locate unless you dropped it while on.

Function and durability
I’m a fan of replaceable batteries like this flashlight has. I have had to many rechargeable types that stopped working within a few months. This flashlight is extremely bright on “high beam”, but yet has plenty of light on low beam. The battery life seems to good so far. I use the flashlight every night, and the original batteries I installed are still bright which is credit to the LED bulbs used. The other nice feature is the size, and sturdiness of this flashlight. You can slide it in your rear pocket until you need it, use it as a weapon if an unfortunate situation occurs, or let your dog carry it as mine does. It won’t break easily from what I can tell. My Retriever has tested its durability and dropped it in water unfazed. Hope this helps.

Not a lightweight flashlight 🔦
This is made of a heavy-duty metal. It's not "tinny" feeling in the least bit. It's not a "mag-lite", but. . . .it reminds me of one. Although, it didn't come with instructions, it did come with 4 AA batteries. 🔋 I wasn't sure of whether to put in the + or - end 🪫in first. Turns out on the cap that seals the batteries in has a graph on it of which way the batteries are to be put in. I had a friend screw the cap securely in place. I am happy with my purchase. 🙂

Bright light. Instructions?
Very bright light. No instructions on loading batteries or changing light modes. I had to read other reviews for that.Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

A Great Buy
I usually forget to write reviews but I had to for this flashlight. This is the brightest, most effective flashlight I've ever owned. I like it so much I bought a 2nd one for when I camp in the remote Colorado mountains. A very fair price and highly recommended. It has 3 settings. High, low, and flashing. I cannot comment on battery life, since I've only had it a couple weeks. It seems pretty well constructed. It might not be as hard/durable as some higher priced ones on the market but it seems put together well enough. I have no issues and am very impressed

7 Modes solved
So glad I was able to pick up this great Energizer 1000+ Vision Pro during this early Amazon Black Friday sale. My other 1000+ lumens flashlight from Energizer is the S1000 which I picked up 2 years ago. It is also great but rather bulky as it has a rather large carrying handle. This Vision Pro is shaped like a conventional flashlight -- in fact very similar to a more expensive Maglite flashlight. So while it is much larger than all the other LED flashlights I have, I can see where it would be advantageous for those who need a heavy, sturdy flashlight (which as a last resort could also serve as a self-defense weapon). As others have mentioned, partly due to its weight, it is somewhat slippery despite the shallow textured grooves etched into the body. I found a solution by simply slipping a 4 inch section of an old bicycle inner tube over the bottom half of the flashlight. Not very elegant, but it works. Also might provide some protection from the heat produced during prolonged use. Finally I figured out what they mean that there are 7 levels of illumination. Bear in mind that there are 3 LED bulbs. 2 of the bulbs have a clear cover. The last has a special hatched len which I believe is designed to focus the light into a narrow beam. To begin with, there are three main settings -- high, low and strobe. In both the high and low setting there 3 modes. If you hold the power button down, the flashlight will move through the 3 modes. For example let's start with the high setting. It starts with all LED lights on -- let's call this the first mode. If you hold the power button down it will steadily lower the output of the two clear LED bulbs leaving the 1 LED behind the hatched focus len -- this the 2nd mode. Note the 2nd mode will have the narrowest beam. Lastly if you hold the power button down again, the two LED bulbs under the clear lens will gradually turn on and the LED under the hatched focus len will turn off -- this is the 3 mode. The beam is wide but not as bright as the 1st mode when all 3 LED bulbs are lit. The same modes can be performed under the low setting. So since both the high and low settings have 3 modes, we have a total of 6 difference levels of illumination. The 7th and final level is just the strobe mode.

Top quality, very bright and durable
This is a very powerful hand light/flashlight! I’m semi obsessed with hand lights and this is the best quality light on the market for less than $100. I’ve purchased several as gifts and everyone loves them

VERY powerful and well made.
I can't believe how bright this is! A really strong and useful light. A good mix of far and close LEDs. Almost too bright for casual use - glad there is a hi-low power control. Bought another one as a gift.
