get what you pay for?
I thought these would be rugged and hold up for quite a while. In fact, one pole lasted 2 outings. One extension won't unlock, the other wont lock. The second one is holding up ok after 4 outings.I expected better for the price.

Sturdy, adjustable and tarp protector is a plus
I bought these poles to go along with a 10 x 10 tarp and to use in various configurations. They are fully adjustable, which provides flexibility. Although light, they are sturdy and should stand up to winds if tied down properly. The tops of the poles where the peg is located has a rounded cover and will protect your tarp if you use it to prop up on a seam and not in one of the grommets. No need to put a sock or cover up the pole end to protect your tarp. The only negative is that they are long, which does not make them good for backpacking. These are best for car camping, overlanding and at parks that allow tarps. I do car camping so these work out great for me.

Water gets in and won't get out :(
Got these for a DIY tarp awning for our car. Used once so far. They're both lightweight and seem strong. Easy to lock in place. We were super excited. Until it rained. A lot. These poles take on water and it seems really hard/impossible to get the water out all the way. The caps at the bottom don't come off easily, so we've just been tilting up and down but we can still hear the water sloshing. They did a great job of holding up the tarp in ~20 hours of steady rain, so this might not be an issue for most people in the sun or in more mild weather.

Didn't know you needed them until you had them.
Went camping the weekend after I got them. It was a lot of stormy weather the first day and a half.I bought two sets. Those four extension poles saved the weekend, and the wood pile, and the wind from beating up the fire...I know for a fact that two of my camping buddies came home and ordered these.

Perfect companion for travel trailer awning
Great replacement of metal pole segments packed with most awnings. Aluminum poles are lighter, do not rust and being able to adjust the height is an added benefit.
