DIY Clay Handprint Bowls kit- Make Your Own Fun Clay Jewerly Bowls 42 Pieces Set Marbled Arts and Crafts Kit Gifts for Girls Kids 8-12

My kids and I decided to do this together today and I must say the instructions weren't helpful at all. It said to basically make snakes with some different colors then to twist them around each other and roll it out. Now this resulted in a really pretty color mix but unfortunately it didn't tell us how many pieces of clay to use so we started with 4 for my 4 year old and 5 for my 7 year old but it was too small for their hands to fit. It wasn't easy to add more after the original flattening and we lost that cool color swirl by the time we added our 4th clay. There is no way you can get 4 kids handprints out of this set unless they are like 2 years old. It does come with tools although they aren't seemingly necessary for the hand bowls. Also it says to put these in a microwave oven "for a few minutes" to harden. It didn't say how many minutes and when I googled it online I read you shouldn't put clay in the microwave! I ended up putting these in my regular oven at 250 for 30 minutes. They didn't end up in a bowl shape but I will use them as Christmas tree ornaments.Long story short, nice clay set if you plan to just do your own thing but if you were hoping to create what this was intended for this only deserves 2 stars. I suggest using about 9 pieces of clay for a 7 year old size hand so hopefully that helps if you intend to do this project.
