Couldn’t put this down! The twist was amazing I didn’t even guess it was coming! What a well written story! X

The premise for the story is good - unusual, interesting. However there’s something mentioned early on which effectively points to the outcome which is disappointing. There is an unexpected twist but it’s rather unbelievable. I would have preferred for that one comment to have been omitted and I think the twist needs a bit more evidence for credibility. Otherwise it’s well written, and very readable.

I have read thousands of books in my seventy years of life. The Most touching,most poignant story told here stands head and shoulders alongside only a few others I class as unique and so heart string tugging as this one. The emotional mind boggling journey each of the five main characters go through as you are taken on this journey with them, is truly mind blowing. I am not going to say anything more than if you want to read a story that has a unique approach to its telling, that will, in so many different ways touch all your emotions, disbelief, anger, sadness, joy and exhilaration, this is a must read. My only regret is not being able to follow up on each of their life journeys, but a STORY has to end somewhere and I am going to presume they all eventually had happy wonderful lives, given their previous heart rending painful life experiences were enough for any one average. human life span. I loved it.

First half of book was great and very engaging but then the plot fell apart for me. I just didn't buy into the ending. Too contrived and far fetched and it moved quickly from being a really good read to almost not wanting to bother with the final chapter.

Every once in a while you come across a book that is different and a compelling read. I read a lot of Crime novels, murder mystery and psychological thrillers and very often they follow a very similar plot - someone has been living a lie, the lie is discovered and puts the innocent person in danger of their lives etc, you know the type. Nowadays I will read a synopsis and immediately reject it, but I still get caught out! So this book was a revelation, people often comment that they were gripped from the start , but I've come to realise you can't rely on that. With this I was intrigued first, then involved, and then hooked. Brilliant!!!

Well developed characters that were very real. The story line kept me wanting to read more. Didn't see the twist coming.Will be looking for my next book by Minka Kent. I love her style of writing.

A good read, but after completing it I felt the time in the woods could have been expanded on, the life & control of the girls more explained. Parts of the story felt a bit far fetched. However overall an enjoyable experience.
