The Flash: Season 2 [Blu-ray]

More than Just another Comic Book Hero
One of the most brilliantly written and well acted programs to grace television in the past several years, The Flash combines the perfect earnestness of a World graced by Super Heroes and the tongue-in-cheek light heartedness to earn the respect and interest of viewers. While The Flash of the comic books has been an issue plagued Hero, The Flash of the television program has conveyed that aspect of the character without sacrificing his humanity. He becomes a regular everyman with daily problems of his own--his love life, his struggle with the proper use of his powers and the tragedy of the loss of his parents--that enables the viewer to identify with him as a Hero able to run faster than the sound barrier. Coupled with the help of his friends, The Flash is able to take on many super villians and defeat them while seeming to be just a man who is extraordinarily gifted and not a God whose powers defy his humanity. And it is this latter trait that keeps the show firmly grounded and ultimately entertaining.

My favorite show!
I really enjoyed this season. I found the villain to actually be terrifying and the costume was amazing, blockbuster movie status. some parts of the series were slightly lacking (berry iris chemistry) however I do feel like it was intentional, maybe to demonstraight Iris's sadness and or the fact that Berry loves her but isn't obsessed and they really are best friends too. Cisco character played by carlos valdes really shined this season and brought the character to life for me. Before i viewed him as the smart behind the scenes supporting character and this season he really added a lot and made me laugh a good bit. I actually find Grant Gustin whom plays Berry to be a very good actor, there were two episodes i kinda wasn't into but that's not really his fualt. I actually find this show to be the best of the super hero series out right now, however sometimes some episodes are just pointless to me. I feel like it's a CW thing to have some episodes that do nothing to propel the actual store line forward and it bugs me but all and all I really enjoyed this season, lots of depth to the main character and finally shows his full termoil he feels inside. Can't wait for season three! it played perfectly with no issues, although I found it a bit over priced

A more technical review
I'll leave most of the content review to everyone else. I preferred Season 1 over Season 2 because it felt more focused on developing the immediate world they were in. I thought that Season 2 often had too many things going on at once, trying to develop too many aspects all at the same time. I also preferred the 'meta human a week' aspect of Season 1. I'm happy for Season 2's deleted scenes. It explained some very small things. I understand why the scenes were cut, but they did clarify some situations/develop some relationships that I felt were sudden and confusing. Fangirl rant done. The more technical aspect. I had ordered this prior to the digital offer, and I really like how that was included. Especially since I pre-ordered months ago before that was even an option. I like how this season they added a TON of new content. The content is wide ranging from more deleted scenes to a lot of discussions on visual effects, character developments, etc. They have the 'Legends of Today' and 'Legends of Yesterday' episodes! They're on discs 2 and 3 respectively. They don't include the Supergirl crossover. Other than that, the packaging was almost exactly the way it was for Season 1. All in all, I'm happy about the presentation and the extra content.

*spoilers!!!* whole review is a spoiler really
The wifie and I really enjoy the show. It's clean and interesting and the characters are likeable. The science is suspect (ha) but it's a comic book show so no worries. It's not as dark as some Marvel offerings. The first season was top notch. The actor who plays Wells is terrific and the others are very well cast too. Cisco is hilarious.Good season and fun to see the characters grow and evolve and such BUT Zoom is not nearly as good and complex of a character as Reverse Flash (might just be the acting chops of said characters) and the ending of the season was a super let down because they essentially just hit the reset button on two seasons of cast development... pretty much a weak sauce writing technique in my not so humble opinion. I think the time travel option is being used too much too soon in the series. But the wife and I do very much still enjoy the show and look forward to the new season, I'm just hoping they don't have the main season-long antagonist as a speedster yet again. They surely have some other options right?

The little engine that could
This is a great show and the CW is starting something of Marvel proportions with their constant crossovers and inclusions of all things DCComics. I ignored The Flash like I ignored the Arrow. But after surprisingly seeing Robbie Amell, whom I loved from the Tomorrow People on the X-Files I decided to give Season 1 of the Flash a looksie cuz Robbie was in that as well. I'm hooked on the Flash's story line and emotionally invested in the characters now. With the CW's utilization/exploitation of the DC Comic world, what with the cross overs and spin offs of the three shows, The Flash, Arrow and now Legends of Tomorrow, I will be vested in the CW for quite sometime. Barry to me is every girl's dream boyfriend and I'm hooked on the relation dynamics of the characters. Glad I gave this show a try. I bought the season so I could watch them on the go. I watched the first season on Netflix

I've always enjoyed the flash as a super hero so I'm a little bias on the positive side. The acting is good but the producers seem more concerned about keeping the "action" level high than the overall smooth flow of the show. For this reason I didn't give it full marks.

The contents in the box were broken ... inside the box was broken and the dvds were not attached. The one good thing is that the dvds still work but paying for a broken item that is so wrong.

One Star
The first 4 episodes on disc were not The Flash: Season 2 but another tv series. Manufacturer error?
