This book is divided into five parts, with 27 chapters, and a total of 330 pages not including the Notes.In the Introduction Macedo describes her own experiences with insomnia, and with working unusual hours. She explains that after trying prescription sleep aids and still struggling to stay asleep, she became focused on finding different ways to improve the quality of her sleep.Macedo identifies Part One as the most important section to read. These chapters discuss how to identify what types of sleep disorders you might have, and how to distinguish between different sleep issues. Macedo covers insomnia, Circadian Rhythm disorders, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy and more.Part Two covers overactive mind and orthosomnia, and includes some exercises and tips to help overcome these issues. Macedo also discusses sleep restriction and naps. Part Three focuses on Circadian Rhythm, chronotypes and scheduling. There are chapters that deal with melatonin, meals and exercise timing. Part Four contains information about sleep habits, as well as advice about alcohol consumption, screens, caffeine, and more. Part Five is all about the optimal sleep environment. There are chapters discussing darkness, temperature, noise and mattresses.Overall, I found this book to be helpful and informative. There is a great deal of information about how to get better quality sleep; and there are many exercises, tips and questionnaires at the end of each section that give you specific things to try for yourself. The percentage of people with undiagnosed sleep apnea was rather surprising, and I would imagine many people would benefit from getting tested and treating that condition.

Amazing Sleep Advice
Great tips to help maximize the quality of your sleep, no matter what your issue with sleep may be. My husband and I both benefited from the info, and we have very different sleep challenges.I have issues falling asleep and waking in the middle of the night. I've tried several different natural sleep aids and searched for ways to help online, but the tools that Diane outlines in this book made the most noticeable difference.The temperature of the room info was also incredibly helpful. I didn't realize how much the wrong temperature was waking me up in the middle of the night until this book.Diane does a great job of disecting complex concepts and breaking them down so that people can easily grasp them.

Incredibly helpful
As someone who has had a fair share of sleep issues, I found this book incredibly helpful. Macedo’s use of real life examples, it made me feel like I wasn’t alone. The book is definitely not only made for insomniacs.There are easily applicable ways to improve sleep, including a worksheet to complete before bed that helps tremendously. Highly recommend!!

Great book
I thought this book was very well written. It had numerous suggestions for sleeping difficulties.I got the book for me and my daughter who is going through menopause and have recommended it to several other women.She touched on so many factors leading to sleeplessness that just about every issue was discussed.Most (not all) women as they age have some sort of sleep issue later in lifeI would recommend this book

Helpful book
I got this as I don't sleep well. Within the first chapter I found useful information and apps to help me sleep. It is written so it is easy to understand, not all technical! I think it is going to be very useful in my journey to achieve better sleep.

Amusing and easy-to-read
This book is an amusing and easy-to-read survey of many sleep problems and suggestions on how to mitigate or even completely solve them. Unfortunately, I failed to find a solution to the problem I have – no trouble falling to sleep but then waking up several times in the night, probably due to old age.

This was purchased as a gift for one of my daughters in law. She has not mentioned that the advice given in the book is working…
