I already had the bed, it’s the Furhaven Jumbo napper. 1st. The package is heavy but once it’s assembled, the frame (jumbo) is not as heavy but still a little weighty. It is made entirely of wood. 2nd. These are real wood slats. 3rd. The legs are metal and wood and they are also heavy. The assembly instructions are clear, lots of pictures. If you have ever assembled something from IKEA, you shouldn’t have a problem here. The slats have to be screwed into the frame and it provides great support. My dog (95lbs and growing) sometimes likes to Superman into the bed and it’s nice to know I don’t have to worry about the slats popping out of place. Be careful cleaning the frame, despite it being pretty it is covered in veneer. We’ve only had one incident (kitten puked on it) and I wiped it down with Method wood cleaner and it didn’t warp or discolor.
