PTCCivil War Solider Themed Chess Set with Glass Board, Multicolor

I am very pleased with this beautiful product.

This is a great Civil War chess set with Abe Lincoln, holding his stovepipe hat , as the King chess piece for the North and Jefferson Davis holding a scroll and wearing a goatee as the king piece for the south. The queen pieces are very attractive with each wrapped in their respective flags for the north and south. The pawns are portrayed as front line infantrymen with muskets. Rooks are mounted cannons and knights are cavalrymen on horseback with the horses on their hind legs. Bishops are senior officers on both sides. The chess pieces themselves have a good weight and heft and hold steady on the board. I have a tournament chess board and these pieces fit very well on them. The glass board the set comes with is average. The pieces are painted nicely and are not gaudy. I am impressed with this set and highly recommend.

Broke a pawn in half. Very fragile

Excellent detail in the chess pieces and it arrived very promptly. My only complaint is the minor damage on the corner of the glass chess board.

The chess pieces are very nice, but the styrofoam packaging is inadequate for storage. Every time the set is opened, there are styrofoam pieces scattering about. I expected a nice set like this to have a better box.
