This alcohol has a very high concentration, so it’s important to store it properly — away from light and in a cool place. I originally started using this during the pandemic, disinfecting items right when I came home — including my phone — and it became a habit. Now I still use it regularly. I usually transfer it into a separate dark brown bottle, filling it with two-thirds alcohol and one-third water. This makes it last longer，safer, while still being effective. When handling it, I recommend wearing gloves, as alcohol can cause dryness or irritation if it comes in contact with skin too often. Overall, the value is excellent — I don’t need to keep buying expensive disinfectant sprays. One bottle lasts me months (my last one lasted about half a year), and I can make my own disinfectant anytime at home.

This 99.9% isopropyl alcohol by MG Chemicals is a must have for the electronics technician or the electronics hobbyist. Because it is 99.9% anhydrous it is safe for circuit boards as there is no water and because of this, it is quick drying. I use it as a flux remover on circuit boards and to clean electrical connections. I've used it on tube sockets and tube pins. Being anhydrous is an added benefit on wafer style tube sockets, where water would cause all kind of issues. I actually used to use 91% off the store shelf and had an issue with a radio that I had cleaned the tube wafer sockets, the 9% water was left over and the radio failed to operate until the water evaporated from the sockets. That is when I switched to 99.9% anhydrous isopropyl alcohol. It also works great in removing disintegrated belt goo on tape deck mechanisms and turntables. Keep in mind that this is not for use on your skin unless you dilute it with water. If you do use this to clean electronics I would advise to wear nitrile gloves when doing so. Overall a great product, might be a bit pricey for 1Qt. but overall it is worth the extra bucks.

I purchased this item in January of 2015. After ten years and seven months in a climate controlled environment, I picked up the container and upon attempting to unscrew the cap, the container broke open due to its having become brittle. Fortunately, it was less than one-fourth full, so it didn't make too big of a mess. The product itself was fine and proved useful for as long as I had it, but unless you expect to go through it rather quickly, you might want to store it in a different container. Admittedly, you probably won't have it for ten years, but just be aware of what might happen. Who knows, They may have addressed this weakness already.

I did not use this and simply it away to a friend, but she has said she likes using it to clean everywhere, from her bed and nightstand to the ceiling vents! I sometimes wonder if she is made of alcohol as everything in the house seems oddly sanitized with every visit. Nonetheless I have not heard any complaints, and for that I give this electronics cleaner a respectable 4/5!

I use this constantly for cleaning circuit boards and doing solder rework and it is just the best. The 99.9% purity makes a real difference compared to the 70% stuff from the drugstore because it evaporates almost instantly and leaves zero residue behind. One liter lasts me a long time as long as I'm not going completely overboard with it. If you do any electronics repair or soldering at all this is the thing to get, stop messing around with diluted drugstore IPA.

This Isopropyl alcohol is great for electronics cleaning. The high 99.9% purity leaves no residue and dries almost immediately. The high evaporation rate of the product is the reason why multiple sealed bottles, in my opinion, are better. Instead of having an open 1 gallon or 5 gallon container, which internally evaporates faster -- due the larger surface area of the product in in a large container -- to reach internal equilibrium with a larger volume of air, these multiple sealed ~1L bottles allow you to store the product with less worry about evaporation and limits the amount lost since you'd only have a 1L bottle open as opposed to say a ~3.785 L (1 gal) bottle. Diluted 2:1 with distilled water gives ~66.5% strength (or 7:3 for 70%) which is better for disinfecting than 91% or 99%. Used at full strength makes a great cleaning solvent. There are cheaper, larger containers available on amazon but for the convenience this product provides and its trustable purity, this seems worth it to me.

Limpio los circuitos electrónicos que da gusto, menuda diferencia con el alcohol normal, no deja sedimento y se evapora rápidamente al 100% no dejando rastro alguno. Cunde mucho porque solo hay que utilizar una mínima cantidad para limpiar cualquier cosa. Viene con precinto sellado que evita que se pierda parte del producto durante el transporte, una vez roto el sello, el tapón de seguridad es robusto y cierra perfectamente (a prueba de niños). Muy contento con la compra.

Mein Baumarkt um die Ecke führt leider kein Iso-Propanol und in der Apotheke zahlt man wahrhaftige "Apothekenpreise". Daher habe ich 1 Liter MG Chemicals Isopropanol hier bei Amazon bestellt. Es war das billigste Angebot mit 7,99€/ Liter. Ich benutze es in einer 70% Lösung mit destillierten Wasser (also 7 Isoprop : 3 H20) als Reiniger für die Elektronik im Haushalt (Bildschirme, Handys, Tablets, Notebooks, Tastatur usw usw). Mit hervorragenden Effekten - es gibt keinen besseren Reniger für ein fettiges Smartphone Display! Den Geruch von Desinfektionsmittel muss man allerdings abkönnen - manchen dreht sich da ja der Magen um (Krankenhausgeruch). Mich störts nicht. Die 70% Lösung eignet sich auch gut, um kleine Wunden (Achtung, brennt wie Hölle), vorallem aber Gegenstände zu desinfizieren In reiner Form (also 99,9% Isoprop) habe ich es kürzlich verwendet um einen eingeklebten Akku aus meinem Smartphone zu entfernen und ihn gegen einen neuen auszutauschen. Das Isoprop löst den Klebstoff an ohne die Elektronik anzugreifen und verdunstet rückstandslos. So lässt sich der Akku mit ganz wenig Kraft lösen. Es ist einfach ein gutes Lösungsmittel das rückstandfrei verdunstet und Plastik/Elektronik nicht angreift.
