Classy Caps SL088 Aluminum Colonial Solar Post Cap, 4" x 4", Black

This cap light is very well-designed and well-made, cast aluminum construction, unlike most others, which are plastic that will age poorly in the weather. Easy to install, with a single screw in the center, and the top rotates to come off for access to the mounting screw, switch, and battery.It has a big empty middle with a white floor (the reflector), which looks a bit plain, like something is missing. It would look better with some gridwork on the sides, like the divided lights you see in doors and windows. I actually ordered a gemstone prism to put inside for visual interest, from an ad on TikTok. It will throw less light, but it will look really cool. I'm not relying on this for area lighting.

These caps look really nice and the first 10 I purchased work great. However, I was one short and purchased a "Used - Like New" cap recently. I purchased used because these prices have skyrocketed since I bought the first 10. The used cap looks great, but the batteries don't work well. The light is very dim compared to the brand-new caps.

Nice post cap...is bright and can withstand the elements. However, the batteries are not very good. Some didn't hold a charge for more than a couple hours. I replaced with high quality named brand batteries and now lights stay on for at least 10hrs. I bought 10 lights and had to change batteries in 4. There is one or two more that only stay on for 6-7hrs, but I will probably just live with it for now. I would buy again...I would just expect to be changing batteries.

Lights were easy to install and well constructed. One light did not stay lit very long but after about a week it started working fine. They stay lit about 6 hours with no problems.

Used for a wood rack project to provide illumination accents. Very good quality compared to most post top solar lamps. Reasonably robust.

Does not provide sufficient light after fullly charged. Would not buy again!!!!!!

I received my order very fast ,but unfortunately one of the lights was broken. I contacted Decks Direct and they said they would send me another one right out to replace the broken one . They did and very fast. I installed them on my driveway entrance and they look really great. We are very happy with them and would buy from Decks Direct again .

Well made, good quality light. Is not a soft white colour, but is not brilliantly bright either. Casts a large square shadow on the ground around it due to the location of the bulbs within the enclosure. Would need a lot of them to light up an area, but would not be suitable for lighting a path.

They fit perfectly on our 4x4 post. The light is bright white. Made of metal so they are made to last

These do not work after being in the sun for a week. Trying new batteries. Will update. The lamps do look nice and are of a good weight. Would like it better if I didn't have to fuss with trying new batteries.UPDATE: After trying many things, we could never get these lights to work.
