Q: Does the zipper have holes for travel locks?

Yes, there are two zipper tabs and each has a hole that would allow for a travel lock.

Q: Could you have a name embroidered or ironed on? Got 4 boys needing for basketball.

You'll have to have name tags sewn on or embroidered on the bag itself - don't think iron on will last. The nylon is fairly rugged and will hold up well. I've been using it to hold my welding helmet, jacket and such. I'm impressed with the quality.

Q: Is the fabric water resistant?

It appears to be mildly resistant to water. I carried it from the car to a building and the rain had beaded up on it. If you are concerned about the bag keeping water out I would recommend spraying it with a good waterproofing spray.
