Nice product. The rubber backing is not quite as thick as one I purchased 26 years ago in Australia but still good.

I love picnics in the park or in the high country desert where I live. But I dont like using flimsy old ground covers that do not give a buffer from what can sometimes be a wet or prickly environment. This Billabong picnic blanket(they call it s rug in Australia) fixes all that by being durable enough so you dont feel the rocks or bits of nature underneath, and it is soft and practical enough that the whole family can have a fun time eating and drinking, even the dog, and then we just wash it down after our lunch when needed. We have not had to use the eyelets to hold it down but good idea they are there if we need them. And guess what it makes a great car blanket to lie flat in your SUV and save it from dog hair, kids spills, or marks from moving heavy items. Everyone should carry one in their car for emergencies as it is wind and rain proof and can even provide added insulation for cross country travel in the cold if needed. I hear they carry wooolen blankets in their "boot" or trunk in Australia in cases of emergencies. Great Idea!

A Billabong rug which I owned a few years ago had a quite different type of rubber backing that was non-slip. Remembering this, I ordered my current Billabong rug to protect a leather couch from my new puppy. Unfortunately, I find that the backing is quite slippery and therefore the rug does not stay put on the couch as my old rug would have done. In fact, it is no more functional than an ordinary blanket.I am VERY disappointed!Wendy Cross

This blanket is rad! It keeps your rear end dry in all but the most extreme scenarios. I especially like the stake grommet holes on the corners…allows for some very secure picnicking. I keep it in my trunk just to keep my options open at parks, the beach, or wherever I am.Don't get caught thinking "I wish I could just lay here for awhile but I don't have a sweet picnic blanket…"

I received a Billabong blanket 20 years ago as a wedding gift and it finally needed to be replaced since the rubber backing was breaking down. New blanket is the same high quality as the old one and I look forward to having this for another 20 years.

This is exactly the blanket I have been looking for! I gave my old one to my daughter for her car and I really missed having my own. Thanks for continuing to make such a great product!!!

Perfect for me and my sweetheart to picknic without getting our bums wet! Nice pattern and great fabric, highly recommend.
