It's almost installed and you only need to assemble 4 handles. After assembling the 4 handles, it is convenient to store.

Are the sock clips all attached as a single unit, or are they 27 individual pieces? Can they be removed from the bar when not in use?

It is a single piece .. made of a hard plastic. I feel if you move it to another location it could break.. I don’t use it.. but really like the rack itself

Does anyone know of a good drip tray that will fit under this drying rack?

If you're hanging machine-washed clothes, they're not wet enough to drip. If you're drying hand-washed stuff that isn't wrung as well, I dont think you'd really need anything under it other than a towel or some cardboard unless it's really sopping wet. I've hung really wet pool towels and even they didn't really drip.
